Dominica News Online would like to disassociate itself from what appears to be a mischievous email which is being circulated with a link to a story purportedly written by a member of staff.
The email contains DNO’s letter head with a story entitled “Greatest corruption scandal in the Dominica is happening right now” and the link leads to a site that asks for a password for a Microsoft account. (A screenshot of the email is above).
We would like to inform our readers that any story written by DNO appears first on the homepage at http://dominicanewsonline.com and links are created on Facebook.
Dominica News Online does not, under any circumstances, send stories to readers via email accompanied by links.
Further, Dominica News Online has not in recent past, written a story entitled, “Greatest corruption scandal in the Dominica is happening right now” as the email is suggesting.
We believe this email is either a scam or someone is maliciously attempting to put DNO’s name in a bad light.
We urge all our readers that if they receive an email entitled, “Greatest corruption scandal in the Dominica is happening right now,” to completely disregard it since it did not originate from Dominica News Online.
Just recently, Dominica News Online was hit by a massive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack which left the site offline for a couple days.
