On August 27th 2015, Tropical storm Erika brought devastation to Dominica. The thoughts and prayers of the management and staff of the Dominica Brewery and Beverages and our parent company AbInBev continue to be with those affected by this storm. We knew firsthand the impact it is having as many of our very own staff, our customers and their families faced and still currently do face overwhelming loss.

The Dominica Brewery and Beverages Ltd. stands in solidarity with the people of Dominica at this time and provide assistance in stages.

First stage – recovery: This was in progress starting from the day immediately after the storm; we opened our distribution centre to ensure availability of water supplies to all. We further made donations and offered discounts to individuals wishing to purchase bottled water directly from us.

The Brewery has also already made donations to several relief agencies equipped with the experience and resources in the distribution of basic supplies such as Bath Estate Development Committee, Dominica Infirmary, Red Cross and Rotary Clubs of Dominica.

There were many others. Though our human resources were limited due to many of our employees being impacted, we mobilized employees to directly deliver much-needed water and food to the more severely affected areas such as Coulibistrie.

But we wanted to do more. Our senior management team recognized that we must provide assistance in the rebuilding stage. We made a commitment that our company will also work alongside Government in their efforts to rebuild. Though it took much longer than we had anticipated, it is better to be late than never. Today, we are pleased to make a contribution of building materials to the Government and People of Dominica. We purchased these materials to the value of EC$50,000.00 locally to continue to support the local economy.

We thank Dominica for its continued support of our company and we will continue to help bring relief to as many persons as possible. Recovery from this tragedy will not be easy, but it will happen.
