Roseau, Dominica (September 15, 2017) — The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has been facilitating Dominican nationals desirous of returning home as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in French St. Martin, Dutch Sint Maarten, Tortola and Anguilla, to be transported to Dominica.

This is in an effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of citizens in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma as the affected countries concentrate on their emergency response and recovery efforts.

To better coordinate these efforts, in light of poor communication in those islands, the Government has taken the decision to assign point persons who can be contacted to provide information.

The following focal point persons can be contacted to register in these countries:

-Dutch St. Maarten – Mr. Clayton Felix

Contact information: 1-721-527-6801

-French St. Martin – Maria Joseph

Contact information: 011-590-690-51-32-59

-Tortola – Ms. Joanne Azzouz & Jasmine Brewley at J & C Trading

Contact information: 1-284-346-7009

-Anguilla – Mr. Quincy Gumbs

Contact information: 1-264-497-2976

Relatives of affected individuals are also invited to contact the following Focal point persons in Dominica to assist with the arrangements for the transfer of our nationals as follows:

For French Saint Martin and Dutch Sint Maarten – Ms Athenia BenjaminTel: 767-285-7774

Tel: 767-285-7774
Email: [email protected]

For Tortola – Ms Loreen Joseph
Tel: 767-266-3395/767-275-0680
Email: [email protected]

For Anguilla – Ms Claudia Walters
Tel. 767-266-3224/767-276-7007

The cooperation of the general public is solicited, as we seek to assist those affected by Hurricane Irma.

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica stands in full solidarity with the Government and people of the hurricane-ravaged islands and pledges its full support to their relief and recovery efforts.

Look at BS, like in bull crap, bull feces!

Skerrit and his clones politicized everything so much that they are making fools of themselves believing nobody will notice. What is the point of telling someone living in Tortola, St. Maarten, Anguilla, or Barbuda, or an illegal stock in St. Thomas USVI who needs help to call a number in England. The number prefix which is 011- is a number somewhere in England.

You suggest somebody to stay in any of the affected places and call Athena Benjamin in Wesley, or E-mail her @ [email protected], at an E-mail address which does not work more than half time; call Loreen again in Dominica.

How stupid are the person who wrote all of that. To call Dominica, or England from any of the affected place are toll calls, if these people need help where are they going to get money to pay for these calls?

    How dumb are our people?

Athenia can scarsely help herself in Wesley, how is she going to help a stranded person who need help housing with food and wherever they are. Is she going to send them a ticket to travel to Dominica. What sort of help are the selectieve people going to give to those who need help.

If this was not a show, there would be identified designated locations on the damage islands where Dominicans could go to request help, even repatriation, that is the kind of effective help people need, and simply talking to some dunce idiot who can’t help their situation!

Thank you Lennox, Matt, Dr. Fontain, Blessings and every other patriot who joined their voices and put PRESSHA on the idiotic PM to bring our affected people home. May the good lord continue to guide and protect you all because regardless of what people may think of you the actions you take always show your love for country 1st above all politics. I pray to god that those affected NEVER forget how Skerro and the DLP Cabal turned their backs on them in their time of need.

Some may say a little too late but I still applaud the PUNJABE Dr, from Enbar, Vielle Casee for changing his mind and putting his tail in his behind to do the right thing. Egg on his face and shame in his eyes!

    Assertive like Mama Eugenia!

P,M, does not get it does he? Now he has appointed party hacks as contact persons so the people who get assistance are sure to know who is their Lord savior. Make sure they all get a free red cap and t-shirt to wear on their arrival home. And Blackmoore garbling about not putting politics into helping our people? Well go and teach your boss man because he can not do anything unless he benefits one way or the other. Fourteen years he is captain of the ship and we are still rudderless and drifting in circles.

You must educate yourself and become broadminded. Grow up!
Consider, a time as this the US and Canadian governments also the European ones send planes of all to transport their nationals back to their country. It is paid for by taxpayers money. Not one of these nationals in those countries question the government, where is the money coming from.
Those of us who are naturalized citizens, if we were in a country and such occurred, even unrest, the government would send air transportation to take us back, with other citizens of their country, to the respective country we reside in. This is the advantage of being a naturalized citizen.

what a reactionary government it took them 10 days and pressure from their nationals to get to that arrangement!!

I do not think so. Too many of you misunderstood what the PM stated. Everything takes time. Plans have to be made, arranged and in an organized manner. You should know, “Rome was not built in a day.”

    • September 16, 2017

Did you listen to the Prime Minister’s press conference?

    • September 16, 2017

It was clearly stated by the PM at his press conference, that arrangements were been made to assist Dominicans wishing to return home. You should try listening to the press conference. By the way if you are a Dominican no one can stop you from returning to Dominica, what is at play here is that to many people want a free ride. When America evacuated its citizens the citizens have to pay, yet we all expect Dominica with a vulnerable and struggling economy to foot the bill of forced return of Nationals from greener pastures.

Better late than never I suppose but the self-inflicted wounds by the P.M. may well leave permanent scars.
They say that elephants have a long memory but believe me, people who believe they have been wronged outdo elephants in that regard. Ask the P.M.

I will defend the PM because some of you are so ignorant that you twisted, turned and misunderstood what the PM stated and meant. Furthermore, the heading of the article did not give due credit to the PM. Many of you are wrong.
I know someone from Anguilla who resides in Ontario. I wonder if she will ever criticize the PM? However, if she were to make that comment, I would correct her. One day I will speak to her about it.

    September 15, 2017

Wey “Let The Truth Be Known- Original”   you aren’t ashamed????? You were busy posting and replying to other posts that spoke against the crap Skerrit said … reckon they won’t be better if they stay anymore??? What happen their insurance not going to give them back moneys as you had so stupidly put it???

Now Skerro feel the backlash for the crap he spoke, he join Linton and now accommodating the movement of persons back to DA…. he is not aiding Mass Evaluation…you fools are always too stupid to think for yourselves and are always to quick to defend everything that Skerro does and says, then you all stay standing with Sh!t on you all faces!

You are also ignorant. There you go again. You are another one who misunderstands what others state. Open your mind. It is small and limited.
I am certain not all of them will travel to Dominica. Even though they did, it will not prevent them from getting any insurance that they are entitled to. They will still get it all the same when the insurance company gets relevant information, processes it and determines how much they will get and when.
You should do some traveling and work overseas. You will learn much. Your response projected that you know very little and about these matters.
I have insurance and I know what I am talking about. There is nothing you can teach me. Smarten up!

I want to know why is Quincy Gumbs the contact for Dominicans in Anguilla. There are a number of well abled Dominicans on Anguilla …. I don’t get the connection at all…. this man has yet to ask one Dominican what are their plights or visited one home of a Dominican.

I really want to know what he aims to benefit from this…. this nassatisic personality, saviour complex fool… Dominicans here cannot stand a bone in his body, even those who work for him, who he treats like little boys and servants.

You all need to find someone else to allow Dominicans to comfortably be dealt with.

I’m seeing back and waiting to see how he is going to personally benefit because this man does nothing without beat his chest like his the great King Kong.
