Acting Prime Minister, Reginald Austrie, has pledged Dominica’s steadfast support to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the occasion of their 203 anniversary of Independence.
On Saturday July 5th, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela observed its anniversary with a short ceremony at the Simon Bolivar square in Goodwill.
Speaking at Saturday’s ceremony, Austrie said that Dominica is grateful to Venezuela for its friendship and support over the years.
“Today July 5th, 2014 I pledge the eternal friendship and solidarity of the Dominica Labor Party, the government and the people of Dominica to our proud brothers of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. We salute your 203rd birthday and the full sovereignty of your independence from Spanish bondage,” he said.
Austrie added that the rise to freedom is never free of obstacles.
“Freedom has its enemies, independence has its critics. There are always those who will put their interest and the interest of their social classes and other interests ahead of national interest and the freedom and dignity of the entire nation,” he noted. “We have stood in the past, we are standing with you right now and rest assured we will stand with you through thick and thin. This has been the nature of the friendship between the two countries.”
He thanked Venezuela for its continued assistance to Dominica and stated that despite their own challenges in their country Venezuela showed its support as a result of the vision of deceased President Hugo Chavez.
“Your presence here on this island is a clear demonstration of the vision shared by our fallen comrade Hugo Chavez,” he stated.
In 1811, Venezuela became one of the first Spanish American colonies to declare its Independence.
Has the Gov’t paid its debt to Venezuela? Remember, the $64,000,000.00 owed to Venezuela as a result of the Petro Caribe deal? Who is in charge of Petro Caribe? The Minister of Housing or the Minister of Energy and Ports? Under which Ministry Petro Caribe falls? Where did all that Money go?
Have electricity rates and the cost of fuel at the pumps decrease? By how much? Who was fooling who?
Well the Gov’t of Venezuela wanted their money and so pleaded many times to the DLP Gov’t for its money owed to them. Is true. No denying. Where was the trust and true friendship?
It would appear that Ambassador Aaron is missing in action. The only time Dominicans seriously hear from the alleged $i4,000 a month Ambassador is when he appears with his wife on Kairi’s Heng talk show on Wednesday mornings and the writting of a weekly commentary in support of the DLP in the New Chronicle. The Dominica’s Ambassador to Venezuela who claims he has a Doctorate and Mr. Lennox Linton is a school drop out is over shadowed by a gentleman who it is alleged reached the third class at a Primary School. The man who claimed his favourite dog is a rottweiler and knows who likes to eat cow meat did not only act as Prime Minister but also addressed Venezuela which is celebrating its 203 birthday.

I wonder in what way Dominica can support Venezuela, except via the garbage Reginald is talking, when you were a security guard at Ross, you should have exchange your labor for an education, if you had you might be in a better position to articulate your rhetoric.
The only support you have to give the Venezuelans is to lie down and make yourself a floor mat while they walk over you carrying Bird island on their head with all the minerals deposits on the island, an oil-well might be under the island.

Who cares!! Go pledge your support to the poor little girl that’s suffering with the brain tumor.
Dominica had relationship with Venezuela before Chavez not because of Chavez. Reginald of all people would be happy with the relationship because he get equipment from airport and tonnes of cash from petro caribe that we cannot pay back. The last time Chavez was Home there was a motorcade with police escort that had a 50 caliber truck mounted machine gun to protect him. Tells how our leaders think of our people. Some think they will rule forever while they drag their country down dispair.
Chavez like skerrit are men who lead on crazy ideology the result of which can be seen in the current state of affairs in Venezuela. Economic principles based on garbage, fantasy, mismanagement, and selfishness.
