Doomsday preacher admits he was wrong

Many followed Camping's prediction blindly

90-yr-old doomsday preacher Harold Camping has released an official statement calling his predictions a ‘mistake’, following his failed estimation of the ending of the World last year.

Camping, who suffered a stroke, had predicted that the World would end on May 21, 2011, but when that did not materialise he then said it would definitely end on October 21, 2011.

However none of his predictions came to fruition.

The doomsday dates in May spurred some people to panic while some Christians who followed Camping’s teachings made preparations to be Raptured. Some of those preparations included quitting jobs, selling homes and in some extreme cases, even euthanizing pets.

On his website Family Radio, a statement read: “We humbly acknowledge we were wrong about the timing.”

The statement continued, “We tremble before God as we humbly ask Him for forgiveness for making that sinful statement.”

In an abcnews report, Camping and Family Radio believes that while the predictions were a mistake, it was all in the work of God and added that they would not be making anymore predictions on when the world would end.

In all this I can only feel pity for the poor animals who lost their lives for the sake of this stupidity. But at least they are better off now than before because their owners sound like some class-A idiots. As for those people I can do little more than laugh at their stupidity and I think they deserve every bit for being such idiots. You might say I’m heartless but you should have read the story a couple days before the supposed rapture of may 21st about the mother and father who believed that they were going to heaven but not their kids, yet still they sold all what they had to raise funds to campaign this idiocy. So you think your kids are going to be left behind but you basically leave them with nothing. These are the kind of people who followed this man’s prophecy. Most of them are self righteous idiots. You would have to be overly self righteous to think you would definitely without a shadow of a doubt make it into heaven if the rapture were to happen now.

The bible clearly states, “He will come as a thief in the night”. Does a thief tell you when he’s gonna come? No! Thats why it’s so good to read your bible and not listen to man. Proud of him to acknowledge that he was wrong though. now Mr Camping, it’s time to hit the retirement home, your brain has frozen

Human beings need to be reminded that they are living in the last days of humanity, for Jesus said it Himself–those who are not informed or those who will not believe, will be taken by a tragic surprise.

Jesus’ return to this world will start the establishment of transformation in mankind and his surroundings–to live Life in the Spirit, for God is Spirit, not of flesh and bones–through the process and production of a carnal mind, which influences the functions of flesh and blood–all of what is known as “the worldly existence”. That new establishment is what the Bible refers to pertaining to the cause of “the end of the world”

The beginning of this new way of Life, as Jesus, Himself, has described, will be just like in the day of Noah.

“For as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not know it until the flood came and took them all away. So also will the comming of the Son of Man be”. Matthew 24: 37-39

The story of the flood tells us that God saved Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives–eight people–the stump that He used to bring forth the world of human beings today.

But how are we, human beings in this world, pertainting to doing the things that give delight to our God of Love–full of mercy and compassion?

Harold Camping would have done nothing wrong if he had simply used his money to go around the world provoking people’s mind to think, and to come to know that Jesus can return at a time when they are least expecting. For that is His promise to us–except that there is conditions to receive Jesus, or else!

The question prompted in those minds would be–are we ready to receive Jesus Christ? In other words, are we among the elects of God Almighty for whose sake, the days of the “great tribulation” will be shortened? For why would we not want to be.

And if we are not ready, we are doomed to perish because of God’s wrath against our careless mentality and our attitude and conducts of wickedness and evil.

That is why God is provoking His servant to remind or inform us of things to come. Men choose to do things their way, and so they defile God`s command to them. That is where Harold Camping went wrong.

The end of the world is not the end of Life, it is the end of mankind, who do not allow the renewing of their mind by faith, but continue to remain conformed to the lies of Satan–doing the things of death, which are the production or works of that carnal, corrupt, wicked, and evil mind in them.

Harold Camping had no right to announce dates and event of the return of Jesus Christ–as he tried to remind or inform people. That is where he flawed, but those who believed him, will never understand God and His Ways either–may God forgive them.

God blessed everyone with a measure of faith. We use that measure of faith through our personal relationship with Him, as through faith we grow in knowledge of God. That is the evidence of Eternal Life in us.

When we have assurance of Eternal Life–which we must–we yearn for the return of Jesus Christ. The annoucement, reminder, or information, is to motivate us to prepare to receive Him–not go into argument about who knows when and who does not know when. Neither it is to provoke fleshly fear in us; and those gross things that those foolish people do.

Many people are saying they don`t believe because they are calculating length of time–and nothing has happened. However the apostle Peter reminds us that “one day is like a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years is like a day to Him“.

Let us not forget that it is 2000 years to mankind since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ–that could only mean one day to God. Holy Spirit, who is the evidence of Life in us, did not manifest in the world until after Jesus` ascension into Heaven.

That is the reason we should understand that we may be living in the last hours of the last day, which is like a thousand years to God, and not the other way around, and to be alert, watching for the coming of Jesus Christ.

One thing I know is that those who are prepared to receive Jesus Christ will not be taken by surprise. What about you, are you one among us If not pack your things and get on board!

As taken from an article….”As with all occult organizations a veil of secrecy is maintained by requiring initiates to take secrecy oaths on penalty of death. As in Witchcraft, Masonry repeatedly demands secrecy oaths at every new level. Charles T. Russell began participating in this secrecy when he took the Entered Apprentice (first Masonic degree) oath on penalty of mayhem and violent death, “I … do hereby and hereon most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear that I will always hail, ever conceal and never reveal any of the arts, parts or points of the secret arts and mysteries of ancient Freemasonry which I received, am about to receive, or may hereafter be instructed in .”

    • NatureBoy
      March 12, 2012

Some others have made similar accusation against Charles T. Russell, but no one has ever proven their accusation to be correct.

A few INDIVIDUALS, as entitled to each person, did have some wrong expectations, but no date for the end ever came from the organization. (Jesus’ apostles also had wrong expectations of a date, and had to be corrected by Jesus himself – see Acts 1:6-8)

Nor have I, in my investigation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, ever read any statement in any of their publications, that Russell or any of the Witnesses for that matter, set any date for the end of the world. Have you? Well, can you share the evidence – the reference where it is found? If not, please stop repeating what you’ve merely heard without proof yet gullibly accepted.

To the contrary, the Witnesses firmly hold to what Jesus expressed at Mt.24:36: “Concerning that day or the hour, no one knows…. only the Father.”.

You would do well to obtain factual information from the source rather than hearsay from often biased mis-informers.

After hundreds of years of science and the spread of knowledge to even the most remote places, I’s surprised people will still fall for these religious hucksters. Wake up! Organized religion is just a way to control people, not to enrich their lives or better the world. How much gold does the Vatican hoard? How many millions do Pat Robertson, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Baker and all the other hucksters have stashed away, mostly received from people who really needed that money to feed themselves and their children. People need to stop being sheep and start taking control of their own lives.

A good benchmark to judge whether someone is a false prophet/idiot is whether they calim to have information that neither the prophets nor the apostle had. Think about it! Who has a higher standing in the kingdom of God: These modern day preachers or the prophets & apostles of old? Could this guy contend with Isaish, Jeremiah, Peter, James, etc? If the answer is no then noone should pay him any mind.
