Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Dominica Water and Sewerage Company, (DOWASCO) Edward Registe is urging the Dominican public to store as much water as possible as the country is now under a Tropical Storm Watch.
The disturbance is expected to become a tropical cyclone later today or tonight and it could become a tropical storm before reaching the Windward Islands.
“We advise that Dominica is now under a Tropical Storm watch so that means that we could be affected by inclement weather,” he said.”DOWASCO advises the general public to ensure that they have water in storage in the event of an interruption in water supply in any part of the country.”
Registe continued, “Of course if there is any damage caused to pipes and other DOWASCO equipment we will ensure that we do our very best to repair those at the soonest.”
He stated that DOWASCO has begun to prepare in the event that any disaster affects Dominica.
