Earthquake south east of Dominica shakes several islands

An earthquake which took place south east of Dominica shook several islands on Friday morning.

DNO has not received reports of it being felt locally, however, there are reports that it was felt in Martinique, St. Lucia and as far away as St. Vincent.

According to the UWI Seismic Research Centre in Trinidad, the quake took place at 6:58 am on Friday, September 15th.

It had a magnituge of 4.7.

It took place 82 kilometers south east of Roseau at Latitude: 15.00N and Longitude: 60.71W at a depth of 29 kilometers.

Other nearby cities are: Fort-de-France, Martinique (60 km NE) and Castries, St. Lucia (111 km NNE).

There are no reports of damage.

    I am a resident of Portsmouth and I felt the tremor about 7:00 a.m. on Friiday morning.
