Elderly receives Christmas cheer from First Domestic

The First Domestic Insurance Company Limited, Dominica’s first and only local general insurance company has continued in its tradition of bringing Christmas cheer to the residents of the Northern District Home for The Aged. The company has been supporting the Home for approximately 10 years now.

At a ceremony held on Wednesday December 21, a cheque of $1,300 was presented to the Home. In attendance were directors, manager, staff nurse, residents and representatives of FDIC Portsmouth Branch Office. Mrs. Heather Baron Fan Fan, Branch Manager reiterated the company’s corporate responsibility to the community of Portmouth.

She quoted an Albanian proverb, “If you give nothing, expect nothing” to bring home the point that what we do when we are young will reflect on how we will be treated when we get older. Indeed our senior citizens have given us much to be proud of; we therefore embrace the opportunity to reciprocate with a heart of endless gratitude. They were encouraged to enjoy their time here and be of good cheer since there are many who may never reach this golden milestone.

The residents were extremely vocal is expressing their appreciation and entertained those present with a few Christmas carols.

Ten years of sharing and caring for the elderly is a great gesture by the FDIC. In a world with so much selfishness you are to be commended. Do not let negative vibes deter you. Merry Christmas!!

Francisco stop critizing how much did you give?Remember if every institution gives $1,300.00 it will go a long way.So stop critizing and play your part and give something also.

Everything in Dominica is done, in order for some people and so called company owner or official to get some air time on Radio & Television in Dominica, and in this instant DNO.

This insurance company gave away some peanut change, and they are making a big deal about it, we are talking about a meager thirteen hundred dollars ( $1,300.00), not thirteen thousand or thirteen million, but a meager thirteen hundred dollars, which can be which some people spend in some high class restaurant on a single night of dinner entertainment.

    What a Joke!

I wonder if staff who help to make the company what it is, got a bonus this year or even when last they ever got one?

First Domestic Insurance must be complimented for their continued demonstration of good Corporate citizenship to the people of the north.

Please continue in a bigger way in the new year.
