Today (Tuesday) marks the final day for the Creole Music Festival (WCMF) special ticket sale.

This special promotion began on September 1 and ends on the 30 with season tickets being sold at $200.

Normally a season ticket costs $325.

Marketing Assistant at the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) Marva Williams told the media at a weekly press conference held at the DFC office on Tuesday morning that, so far, the ticket sale has been a success.

“The promotion of season tickets is ongoing, Dominicans this is your final day to get your tickets at $200 …it was amazing yesterday to see the flow of traffic coming into the office and we expect the momentum to build up today,” she said. “At the final hour at 4:00 pm we will still be selling tickets … so we are opened at lunchtime so you can come in and make sure you get your tickets.”

Williams also revealed that the first Festival Dwive held at the Krazy Kokonuts last Friday and the WCMF ticket train at La Plaine was, “great and well attended.”

“I must say that the first Dwive with Triple KAY band and Ecstasy band it was great, it was well attended,” she said. “The road show to La Plaine was well received …after we left the crowd build in terms of momentum and you know that of course is a plus for the WCMF.”

She stated further that the second Festival Dwive will feature Kross Vybes, the Aftermath Band and DJ Smooth.

The event is expected to begin at 7:00pm and culminate at midnight this coming Friday.

“On Saturday the road show continues, this time we are going to Grandbay,” Williams said.

She also highlighted more opportunities for persons to win WCMF tickets.

“If you miss the opportunity to purchase your season tickets at $200, you have another chance,” she said. “However, the catch is $250… so at this Friday’s Dwive on October 3, you can get your season tickets at $250 at the Krazy Kokonuts.”

The first two winners of WCMF tickets were presented with their ticket prizes on Tuesday.

Anthaton Daniel, 19, of Castle Bruce and Lourie Ambo-Victor, 23 of Salisbury both thanked the DFC and encouraged others to like the DFC Facebook page to get opportunities to win prizes.

    I think it was a wonderful initiative taken by the D.F.C. and we only hope in the end we have a comprehensive transparent report with real numbers and news of profitability of our W.C.M. f. We are waiting with baited breath. Having said that I am a bit baffled that persons in the diaspora were some what left out, thou there was on line purchase, it appears that the long held perception that persons who are patriots living in the diaspora have tons of money and should not be given the opportunity to participate fully in the promotion of our festivities. Diaspora as they are referred by is sort of sending the wrong message. All are we are one” and there is no cash cow, or A.T. M. attached to persons living over seas contrary to how some living over sees want to portray themselves. We not missing that for sure and we are looking forward to a good time, hope all is on their best behavior and Welcome all to our lovely shores show them that we are the best at what we do and let no other Island try to steal our festival. In the end we want to hear of dollars and cents. Not success with no real numbers any thing short of that will be a waste of time.

    If your ticket sale is such a success why you have to discount the price so steeply? That does not make sense.

      @Me

      Commonsense would dictate that it means that at the $200 price point ticket sales were a success. We must read carefully and analyze before making comments such as those
