Firefighters were called to the Social Security building in Roseau after a small fire broke out on the western side of the building on Monday afternoon.
According to the fire service a call was received at around 3:50 pm of smoke in sections of the building.
Upon arrival on the scene it is reported some fire was seen coming from a generator area but it was quickly brought under control.
Firefighters believe the small blaze began when insulation on the generator or in the generator room caught fire.
No one was injured in the incident.
This is a warning sign for institutions like the banks, government offices, etc to to adopt a Disaster Recovery Plan/ Business Continuity Plan (DRP/BCP) to protect critical data
I hope that was not a cover up
dey have enuff money to rectify any issues that occured
hopefully that does not mess up my claim process its already been a whole month.
Dem fire officers finally get work to do.
Wake up call. with this is mind, the management of DSS should make a statement informing us the stakeholders that our records are kept and good and sound order in case of these unexpected and natural disasters. Please do not wait when the damage is done to tell us that you cannot locate our records.haha. Well I guess too, the actuaries do have recent and updated records of each contributor. TAKE NOTE
the fire officers responded on time
You mean the fire fighters did such a good job that they DNO didnt even have time get a pic of the fire ?
lololol lololol
but of course I’m a generator expert how you mean nah, you funny qui obviously I know the specific sound all generators make when they are just about to start a fire. They make this minute sound which can only be heard by trained professionals. For example the noise can be only heard between -4dB and -3.5dB. But, since you are not a professional trained in this area you have no basis to justify your above statement.
@Disturbed
Are you all not sure is some bobowl(spelling) that go on, someone was trying to burn some files and it got out of control…lol
BOY !!, I WAS SAYING JUST THE SAME THING
@ Blessed
It is you again! Such negativity. People who have the Holy Spirit of God do not, specifically, consistently think and make such assumptions, always thinking of the worst as you have written.
Did anyone see the brush fire at Canefield East last night.
NO I thought that was where they responded too.
deeeze dab love you babby
it had to take a fool to bring skerrit in dt talk abt small minded plp……………dominicans
I dont know what the response time on this one, but it look like some lesson was learnt , from when that poor old lady was burn to death, in the heart of the Capital of Roseau, minutes from the fire-station.
A native son, in California.
UTTER RUBBISH!! You are in no position to cry down Dominica’s firemen. Stick to your US issues.. You were not at the sight of the fire so u cannot give any “Hear Say” remarks there. Where u are in California there stick ur nose where u can smell!!!
ebeh I hope my investment didnt burn……………..
u should 1st of all thank God everyone was safe
Retard ur 50.00 a week is no sitting in the building…duh
Hope everyone is safe and no important documents and records got destroyed by the fire.
May God continue to bless the fire officers and keep them safe always!
where are those negative energy peps let me hear who to blame for this one i hope is not my godfather skerro.ok
sot
you funny ehhhh
WAT A TING, who do you think to be blame than your godfather, the Generator?
OMG
how sad
I am 100% sure it was the generator cause earlier after lunch I heard the generators making noise when I pass dere
Hmmm. You seem to be a generator expert… Generators always make noise. If it were the generator, you would be reading about a fire…More like massacre or Ka-boom~!
Hope no one was hurt but hope that all the old policies got burnt.
@ Aye Dominique
You are not a smart person. You never wish anyone harm. It will fall on you and your household in time, if not sooner. Surely you should know better.
