Very nice piece of change coming from CBI to wit:
“Madam Speaker, for fiscal year 2018/19, non-tax revenue is estimated at
$428.8 million or 54.4 percent of total revenues. This comes primarily from
the Citizenship By Investment Programme (CBIP), which is expected to bring
in $406.6 million”
Which means the other 50% is primarily from some of the highest customs duties that makes the cost of living in Dominica sky high, ranking way up there with Guyana that’s so poor?
When they ask diaspora to return home when retired and get duty free for returnees, those who take the bait and bring a basic thing like a …car, discover that there is an elephant in the bird-bath…customs duties of $10k to 20 thousand on an old car, if new, your guess is as good as mine. You can be suckered into poverty on customs duties. Figure that in.
A budget speech devoid of any plan to get people out of poverty except to give them handouts! People of Dominica stop letting this government dictate what you eat and how you sleep! Take charge of your future and that of your children. How many SUSTAINABLE jobs does this inept government plan to create?
Useless, like tits on a bore
