Goodwill branch of Dominica Red Cross brings Christmas cheer

Red Cross volunteers and needy persons pose for photo at presentation of food hampers.

Members of the Goodwill Branch of the Dominica Red Cross presented food hampers to needy persons in the communities of Pointe Mitchel, Kingshill, Massacre and St. Joseph on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

According to the Assistant Branch Leader, Pearl Robin, “This is an annual event which the branch volunteers look forward to when we distribute food hampers to needy persons particularly the elderly during the Christmas Season.  Our goal is to assist those in need.”

On that same day, the volunteers made a cash donation to the Psychiatric Unit of the Princess Margaret Hospital which was presented to the mental health team.  It is expected that these funds will aid in organizing Christmas activities for the patients.
