Grand Bay Credit Union building to be renamed

Jno. Phillip is said to be a stalwart in the credit union movement
Jno. Phillip was a stalwart in the credit union movement

The Grand Bay Cooperative Credit is on Monday 13th October 2014 seeking to pay tribute to a stalwart of the credit union movement and former manager by naming the Grand bay Credit Union Building “The Germaine Jno. Phillip House”

Mrs. Jno. Phillip, who passed away in July 2013, was associated with the Grand bay Credit Union for more than twenty years during which time she exemplified the core attributes of the movement.

Mrs. Jno. Phillip was very instrumental in efforts to construct the new building which now houses the Grand bay Credit Union. As a result, the society’s Board of Directors “found it fitting to name the building after her in an effort to honor her legacy.”

The ceremony will take place at 5:00pm on the 13th of October at the society’s office in Grand Bay where a plaque and sign bearing the new name of the building will be unveiled.

What is with all the renaming of structures?

Dominicans are very short on innovative or constructive ideas.

Am sure that this was her only accomplishment. we too hypocrite. I hope we get to know the extent of her accomplishment during her tenure as manager. and if we are honest we will reconsider naming the credit union after her.
