Inaugural “Dominica- China Youth Friendship Week” to be observed

flags1The National Youth Council of Dominica (NYCD) and Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will host the inaugural “Dominica- China Youth Friendship Week” under the theme “Celebrating ten years of Harmonious Partnership”.

The series of activities is scheduled to commence with an assembly on September 22 at the Orion Academy and conclude with a football match at Windsor Park Sports Stadium on September 27.

The Dominica- China Youth Friendship Week is developed as a series of activities which encourages mutual friendship and cultural exchange between the citizens of Dominica and thePeople’s Republic of China.

As the relationship between our two nations grows, it is important that the respective citizens develop stronger bonds and deepen the understanding
of each other’s culture.

The key objective is to celebrate and show gratitude upon reaching the 10 year milestone of official diplomatic relations between Dominica and China. Over the past ten (10) years China and Dominica have forged a harmonious partnership which is centered on empowerment of their respective peoples.

Moreover, barriers to establishing a common understanding such as language and limited understanding of cultural traditions can be addressed through these types of social and cultural exchanges.
