A charitable organization in Portsmouth, ‘The Lamb’s Feast Organization’ has donated 50 beds and mattresses in relief to those affected by Tropical Storm Erika.
The relief was made available by the Dominica-Antigua Relief Fund (DARF) which is being chaired by Dominican, Darwin Telemacque, who holds the post of President.
A handing over ceremony took place at the Longhouse Reception Depot in Portsmouth on Thursday to present the beds to those in need.
“We are handing over some beds to the government today which we hope will go to the people of Petite Savanne in the new houses that they built,” Member of the Lamb’s Feast Committee, Soana Benjamin told Dominica News Online. “We have other beds that we donated to Colihaut, Penville, Coulibistrie and some to elderly persons on the north of the island.”
According to Benjamin other relief supplies donated were clothing and water.
The Lamb’s Feast outreach ministry is a non-denominational ministry operating in the North by Jennifer Jeffers as President. The organization was chosen, among others, by DARF to receive a 40ft container, which includes Beds and Mattresses, Clothing Items, Medical Supplies and Water. Water and clothing to various villages, especially to the elderly and less fortunate, were also presented.
Medical supplies will be presented to the hospital next week.
Great work Jennifer, the Lamb’s Feast Team and DARF partnership… God will bless you all 10 fold.
