Disaster Coordinator at the Office of Disaster Management (ODM), Don Corriette, has reported a “large enough rock fall” in the vicinity of Dan’s Pharmacy in Massacre that partially blocked the road following adverse weather conditions associated with now Tropical Depression Danny.

He also reported that there were rock falls in Tarreau and Colihaut and is urging motorists to exercise extreme caution in these areas.

However, Corriette said, there were no reports of damage or major landslides.

“No significant reports of damage or major landslides were noted, however anybody having any information of any significant activity around the island can call the ODM to report those events,” he told Dominica News Online (DNO) on Monday morning.

He said further advisory from the Met Office indicates that rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and those plying west coast routes, especially, are to exercise caution.

Meantime he stated that the country saw “moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms” in the early hours of the morning as a result of Danny.
