What?! That’s sad news. He was a good man who definitely helped my career and that of many others. Funeral service in Queens on Monday? Let’s see if I can make it. Rest in peace, my friend.
Remember him on the radio, was still a junior boy in Goodwill School.. Remember Him Walking Past Cross Street in Roseau, by A C Shillingford cClose where I lived. Remember Sitting on De Winstons step where he would stop and talk to us on his way home from work at DBS. THOSE WERE THE DAYS, NEVER TO RETURN. NO TV BUT WE HAD FUN FROM LISTENING TO THE RADION ON DE STEEP . ALSO REMEMBER TED DAILY PASSING BY TOO…… I doh want to go to bed I want to listen to Ted instead…lol
I have been asking about Michael since we worked at DBS along with Primrose, Eucille, Vida, Ann, Raymond, Ted etc. It’s very sad to read about his death. May he rest in peace. Former collegue.
Miss
Rest in peace, Bugs, my friend. It’s been a long time, but we’ll all miss you! My sincere condolescences go out to the family.
Wow!Bugs! Rest in peace, my friend! SMA forever!!!!
i loved him
Bugs, we love you and will miss you dearly. As part of the Hawks, we did a lot together back in the days.
Condolences from the rest of the boys of Hawks, till we meet again, brother. RIP
Can you recall his closing theme song on the MP in the PM Show? Yeah, it concluded like this….”the rest is up to you, think of it”. He was in Room 101 together with Francis Henny Samuel and Charles Xavier at the SMA and I was in Room 102 together with Ken Richards.
I know that MP in the PM was on the airwaves before Hurricane David. But “Bugs” helped shape DBS (now in its 40th Year). Can we expect to hear something from DBS on his (MP’s) contribution to the development of DBS (even though the death announcement on DBS made no mention of his past affiliation to the nation’s station.
So they ehguois not Tim ,Alvin even Stephen took time to say and prepare something special in his memory.DA has change in always. What a shame.
…or Felix and Ted.
Bugs spent the two days following Hurricane David living in DBS with Felix Henderson; surviving on contributions from fans of the radio station.
He also did the first broadcast following the hurricane from a battle ship anchored in the Roseau Harbour.
I’m really saddened that they (DBS) just read his death announcement without any mention of his contribution to the radio station.
Very sorry and shocked to learn of the death of MP in the PM as I also remember him. Always had a larger than life smile, and a very easy-going person.
Sincere condolences to his family, your loss is tremendous but take refuge in all the good memories that you have of him.
God bless you all.
My exact sentiments. Michael was a great guy. Still see that smile as he rounded the corner of Great George and Great Marlborough. Blessings Brother!
Condolences to my friend Michael “Bugs” Peter..
MP in the PM…what was the phrase again “He’s a bad mother…shut your mouth (liked to use that Shaft theme on his afternoon show). Yes the folks on Great Malborough street will also miss you and the cricket you always thought you were good at..RIP
Peter Richards (The West Indian).
Sincere condolences to the family. I remember the “MP in the PM” on DBS. The death announcement on DBS made no mention of his affiliation with the radio station, so I was unsure whether this was the person being referred to. He certainly made a major contribution to broadcasting in those earlier years at DBS. May his soul rest in peace.
I am at an age where I should remember that person, but as much as I try, that name does not ring a bell.
RIP brother.
I am sorry to learn of the death of Michael Peter. I listened to him on DBS when I was a little boy. My condolences to his family and friends.
Lord have mercy MP face change I was wandering if its really MP but there is no doubt about it. May yr soul rest in peace.
That man changed. I remember him with the typical big afro hair style, white t-shirt, blue jeans, locally made sandals and that cigarette in his right hand and a few papers in the left.
The old folks of upper Gt. Marlborough Street will no doubt miss him.

Michael’s place in our family was carved out many years ago, and we will see him in his two sons, and always remember him. He loved his boys and was dedicated to be a part of their daily lives. We will miss him and the days at the kitchen table, just being family. Rest peacefully with God, there is no pain in heaven.
DNO, the information given to you is not quite correct. Michael, my brother, had three sons and not two,Larsana, the first,Irvin and Jason.
Also his daughter, Ayisha and one grandchild.
2 grandchildren…
Will miss u 2 my friend! U really were a good friend 2 me. Always made me laugh.
So Tim Durand it took my comment to have you profile and set up an orbituary for Bugs?
I see you deleted my post. But the message reach home right?

DA2BK, as a reader i don’t get your pt in ref to coiel mini-Mart comment.
When I read your name I thought it read lolo! lol! DAbazodi. lol!
BS Admin,Tim has how many % shares in DNO? He of all persons/people ought to be in the fore of seeing that it was done.
More BS, haven’t you not posted topics with little information then state you will update as infor comes in? Poor effort at attempting to justify your failure. I guess despite new ownership, the staff remains and the mediocre BS continues.Give me a break, you are just incompetent and need to step-up on your logic. If you guys are in the news business for christ sake make/state an acceptable justification effort.
My heartfelt sympathy to his family.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen!
My condolence to his family. Farewell friend. We did Roseau Mix Infant School, Roseau Boy’s School and S.M.A together. You were large MP in the P M. JAH guide on your journey.

Condolences to family & friends. May his soul rest in peace.
MP in the PM…RIP..good memories.
What boy ! Bugs, sorry to hear that,my condolence goes out to your family, a member of the hawks and Mohawks days.Rip bro.
He was also the “MP in the PM”
He will mostly be remembered also as the “MP in the PM”, “THE CORNBREAD LOVER”, His “VOICE BOX” Sunday morning program.
I can’t recall who said ‘a friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you’ve forgotten the words’; our friendship was special and you were that kind of friend.
What a journey we had! Rest in Peace My Friend.
Okay claude ,how derrick? I hear you loud and clear SMA days miss marie’s bakes and cooconut cheese. Piwi and Miss Punie’s bread a bonjaw were some of Bugs favorite back in the day.
I recall my days with him at SMA,carnival he loved to hover in the semi background.Last time I spoke and met with bugs was 96 when he visited home. I soon migrated to new york and never laid eyes on him even if we both reside in the big apple.
So close and yet so far.
Bugs was one of a kind in more way than one.
rest in peace my buddy.
We did it together, all the things that tested our boyhood growing up on Great Marlborough St.
Cricket and football on the sidewalks
The banks of the Roseau River – Under Power and Champagne
The Windsor Park in the evenings
SMA: GCE, Student Protests
The Black Power struggle
Nun School Girls, Convent Girls
School dances at Goodwill Parish Hall
Harlem music festivals
Later: Nite Box and Green Grotto
Civil Servants strikes
Backpay…chicken at Sea Moon

Political unrests of the late 70s…
So many fond memories… I will miss you, My Friend.
