The House of Assembly of Dominica will meet on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 to dispense with a packed agenda that will likely require more than one business day to complete.
Among the agenda items listed on the Order Paper are: the presentation of four papers; one question requiring an oral response; three questions requiring written responses; possible statements by Ministers; the introduction of four Bills by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Finance; the introduction of three Bills by the Honourable Minister for Justice, Immigration and National Security; the introduction of one Bill by the Minister for Trade, Energy and Employment; and the introduction of one Bill by the Minister for Tourism and Urban Renewal.
The House of Assembly is also expected to consider a Motion to approve Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure for the year 2015/2016 amounting to EC$103,886,083.25 and this Motion is expected to attract a debate by Members.
According to the Order Paper, Bills that will be considered for their Second and Third Readings include: four Bills by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Finance; three Bills by the Honourable Minister for Justice, Immigration and National Security; one Bill by the Minister for Trade, Energy and Employment; and one Bill by the Minister for Tourism and Urban Renewal.
Finally on the Order Paper is a Motion by the Leader of the Opposition followed by the Adjournment.
The Meeting will be broadcast on Marpin channel 7, DigicelPlay channel 2, and via the Government Information Service on YouTube.com. The Meeting is expected to require a few days to complete.

The seven existing laws slated to be amended include: the International Business Companies Act, No. 10 of 1996; the Tax Information Exchange Act, Chap. 67:02; the Value Added Tax Act, No. 7 of 2005; the International Exempt Trust Act, No. 10 of 1997; the Sexual Offences Act, No. 1 of 1998; the Companies Act, No. 21 of 1994; and the Tourism (Regulation and Standards) Act, 2005.
The two new laws to be introduced include: the Bail Bill and the Geothermal Resources Development Bill.
