The next parliamentary sitting is set for September 28, and will address matters like the new legislation for Customs and the Legal Profession Bill, says Attorney General Francine Baron-Royer.
“The Customs have been going through a modernization and reform process and part of the process has involved a review of the customs’ legislation so we expect to have that matter go before parliament in September,” she explained.
AG Baron-Royer says though, that the agenda for the September 28 sitting has not yet been established and therefore a precise list of the matters for debate and discussion is unavailable.
Meanwhile, there have been requests for amendments to the Integrity in Public Office’ (IPO) Act, some of which have already been considered by Cabinet. “There were subsequent requests for amendments to the act, some of which are also going to be considered by cabinet,” said the Attorney General.
