Peaceful World Movement appeals for peace, order and humility

St. Jean

Founder and Executive Director of the Peaceful World Movement, noted criminologist and sociologist,
Peter K. B. St. Jean appeals to all members of the Dominica community to continue being peaceful, humble, and orderly in their various responses to the highly anticipated dual citizenship court ruling released on January 10th 2012.

That decision declared Prime Minister, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, and Minister of Education, Hon. Petter St. Jean as winners in the high profile, landmark case which challenged whether or not they were legally able to contest the 2009 Dominica national elections.

The acclaimed social scientist states that “we are now greeted with a new moment in our nation’s history that again requires all of us to be fair, peaceful, orderly, and considerate in our words, thoughts, expressions, and actions as we all continue with the task of building a brighter future for our beloved nation and its wonderful peoples. This must happen now while we have this window of opportunity.”

As an advocate for peace and justice, he wishes to remind the entire Dominica community that his teams at the Peaceful World Movement, and Quality of Life Solutions stand ready, willing, and able to provide leadership and guidance for peace capacity building as the nation continues to chart the course of its brighter and more peaceful future.

Good to see Dr. st. Jean’s continued work. Maybe he is the onlybDominican, or one among very few that can actually speak to both sides to come to an understanding. The government should call on him to help smooth things.

Simply put, he is correct. Without peace and respect for all we cannot proceed and succeed and will never be happy. Do I love peace and to be peaceful and happy.

For there to be Peace we need Equal Rights and Justice.
I remember that in the story “ANIMAL FARM” the pigs modified the commandments.
The one which to me equates to Dominica today is “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”.
So then how can you expect Peace?

This old adage apply to all societies – yes, even the so-called “fountain of modern democratic principles,” the USA.

Are you serious? Where have you been over the last 15 years when he began in Grand Bay and has continued great work since then? Have you read his book Lessons from Grand Bay: Prospects for maintaining low crime in Dominica, nature of the Caribbean that was published in 2006? Have you read the Peaceful Dominica proposal? Do some homework and you will see what you have missed over the last many years that he has been giving and offering his services.

Bro I understand clearly what you said and it does not mean that you showed nor supported any politician, you spoke and cautioned all of us and nothing is wrong with that.

IF THE IS NO JUSTICE THERE WILL BE NO PEACE .OUR LEADERS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DECEITFUL GROUP OF POLITICIAN FOR MANY YEARS NOW ;NOT ONLY SKERRIT.
REMEMBER THAT THE MOST HIGH HAS ALL THE POWERS IN HIS HANDS AND THE ENTIRE WORLD ;ONE DAY THERE WILL BE AN END TO ALL INJUSTICE….IN THE CORAN IT IS WELL STATED THAT WE MUST NEVER MAKE OUR ENEMIES BECOME OUR FRIENDS.

Mr St. Jean, As renowned criminologist and one who is well experienced in social issues, you must be fair in your guidance to us the Dominican people, there is so much illegality going on and we expect persons like you to at least let your voice of caution be heard on these matters; Where was your voice when the Hon Prime Minister short changed the treasury of Dominica with him being the gate keeper? Where was your voice when the bin bobol and fertilizer issue came to the attention of the Dominican public? Where was your voice when we were told no constitution or no Law? Where was your voice when Gon Emanuel home was fire bombed? Where was your voice when we were told WIN, LOOSE OR DRAW? What must we do? allow ourselves to be beaten to death? We all understand your relationship with the parl rep from the valley but i am quite sure you are well aware of many quotations and one of them NO PEACE WHERE THERE IS NO JUSTICE

      CIA on the watch:

He is being fair as he appeals for general peace, order and respect and also in responses. No peace, no hope, no happiness -no peace of mind. Seek peace and it will follow you. Keep this in mind.

You people are so pathetic!!! the man is speaking about peace, yet you speak of war??? Your desperation will only result in more frustration sir. Take my advise, cool down or else the likes of you will burst a vein or too in your brains (that is if it’s still functional)

ALSO WHERE WAS HE WHEN THE MAGISTRATE ORDERED SKERRITS LAWYER TO BE ARRESTED AND NOT ONE POLICEMAN MOVED TO EXECUTE THE SIGNED WARRANT, AND WHERE WAS HE WHEN AN UNLICENSED FIRE ARM WAS GIVEN BACK TO “BUBBLES” AFTER THREATENING PEOPLE WITH IT. MR. ST JEAN YOU ARE EITHER ON THE SIDE OF TRUTH AND JUSTICE OR YOU ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE. IN THE LINE OF WRONG AND RIGHT THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUNDS. THAT’S WHY MISTER LEARNED DOCTOR NONE OF YOUR SOCIAL PROGRAMS YOU TRIED HERE NEVER WORKED AND WILL NEVER WORK UNTIL THE RULE OF LAW IS EXERCISED ON EVERY AND ANY ONE WHO VIOLATES OUR CONSTITUTION.

CIA ON THE WATCH THE MAN IS A DOMINICAN AND HE ONLY ASK US ALL TO BE PEACEFUL AND YOUR COMMENTS ARE EXTREMELY CHILDISH. I HOPE YOU AND DR FONTAINE WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT THE PASSPORT YOU SPEAK OF TO THE JUDGE SIR. YOU GUYS JUST DO NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE WAY THINGS WORK, YOU JUST MAKE UP YOUR MINDS THAT PEOPLE ARE GUILTY AS CHARGED ON RADIO TALK SHOWS. THE COURT OF LAW DEALS WITH EVIDENCE NOT PARTY POLITICS SIR. GET REAL BRO, DR ST JEAN IS FAIR IN HIS COMMENTS. IF YOU HAVE THE PROOF OF WHAT YOU TYPED MAKE IT AVAILABALE WHEN THE MATTER COMES BEFORE THE JUDGE.

This is in the same vein with Skerrit’s speech declaring war against free speech except with a sugar coating and a dash of the peace, love and unity mantra that so many idiots today push.

    “social scientist”

lmao academia today will call anybody a scientist

  13. Mad as Hell
    January 12, 2012

Unless you do not ask for justice, you are not serious about peace, because you have to know sir that there can be no peace without JUSTICE!!!! Justice is the pre-requisite of Peace! The precursor to PEACE. If you are not asking for Justice, don’t bother to ask for Peace!

I agree 100% and I expected Mr. St.Jean to know that. I was disappointed in his speech. It is JUSTICE and PEACE Sir not peace and Justice.

  14. JAH GUIDE
    January 12, 2012

I understand your calling for peace but my brother I say to you that there will be no peace unless justice is served or seen to be served.

As a people we need to be Christ like and be humble, we should not let position swell our head for when that happens we tend to become full of pride and figure out every thing is about us.

This is bad especially when it comes to governance of a Country. Think of your people and treat them fairly.

      @ I Love MY People

It is a message for every one no matter where they reside.
There are some who love peace and strive for it. There are others who do not.
Do you know the Desiderata, words of which are? “Go placidly amidst the noise and haste and remember what peace there is in silence. Be on good terms with all people…Speak your truth quietly…Listen to others. They, too, have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive people they are vexatious to the spirit…Strive for peace with every one…” God expects this of us.
How many people are doing that? Only last night I spoke about the Desiderata to someone.
