I appreciated the display of the beautiful and exotic flowers. However, I was looking forward to a whole day out. Sadly there were no side activities. I thought there would have been a dance or a Miss Flower pageant. Additionally, the entry fee was too high. The ten dollars charge for both adults and children turned away a lot of people.

tourist should see this and we are joking if we don’t we don’t promote this greatness. Talk talk talk, dats a super income generating brand. Put some serious money into promoting these flowers around the year and help lower the HIGH rates of unemployment in these twin communities Giraudel/eggleston. Parlrep come on man ??????? What you doing for those folks ?! Laziness must be killed in our minds!

I remember growing up and looking forward to flower show as a little girl, and even having the privilege to participate with my family. Now, many years later, it brings back so many memories and such joy to see it come back with such a bang. Hats off to all the organizers and participants. I’m so proud to be a native of this blessed and bountiful part of the island. It is also amazing to see the sheer creativity that is embedded in every detail of this production. Simply mesmerizing.

I am so proud to see these amazing pictures and know that the community of Giraudel and Eggleston is as strong and vibrant as ever! I miss you all so much and these images remind me of my wonderful two years in Giraudel as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Please know that no matter how long I have been gone, I will always hold Dominica in my heart. I love each one of you, and you are forever in my thoughts and prayers.

Absolutely stunning. Oh my..oh how I wish I was there, I grew up taking part in the flower show and this brought back wonderful memories. I am disappointed that I will miss it by three days. Hope to see it one day soon…. it’s a lot of hard work and it pays off. Thanks to the photograher who took these amazing pictures and thanks to DNO for sharing.

Beautiful, I wish more home owners in DA would use more flowers and plants to beautify their homes, the flowers add such contrast and curb appeal to the surroundings of the homes.

They did a good job and in such a short space of time. I can imagine next year will be even better.
The flower arrangements are beautiful. They are worth bragging about and showing others who are especially not from DA. It is a great time to visit.

First of all I am sure that Dominicans celebrated today, May 20, as Whit Monday, or Pentecost Monday as it was known in the past, I hope that everyone had a great day today.

Although it is believed that Christians today, view Pentecost as the Birthday of the Church in Jesus Christ, it is said that in the days of old Israel Pentecost was the celebration of the First of the Harvest which God ordained for the Israelites, who were His chosen people of ancient times–that ordination was established through Moses

Hence it is good that we have our Flower Show beginning at this time of the year–it would also represent the “Feast of the Harvest” for us–except in the form of flowers, and our art of designing them, a celebration of the “gift” of the “mind” as God has blessed us with those gifts of ability.

Let us give God the praise, the honor, and the merits, without His blessings we can do nothing!

I regret being absent from this beautiful celebration of my home Village of Giraudel, along with the participation of the people of Egglestion–nonetheless, God be willing, I will be there by His grace and His plan for my Life.

Blessings to you all, my family, other relatives, and close friends in Giraudel. May you continue in harmony of friendship with the people of Eggleston.

May you continue in the peace and joy of Holy Spirit, who is Love–Life in our revived soul. Do not forget that He been in this world, for this very purpose, sent from the Father and the Son, more that 2000 years ago, and just 50 days after the resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I was lucky to have been able to go to the flower show yesterday, and was amazed by, not only the beauty of the floral displays, but also the amount of work that has gone into the show.

We bought beautiful plants, ate lovely food, and had a great day out.

I look forward to many more years of the festival, and would love to know whether this venue and the gardens are open all year round, so I can take visitors to Dominica.

The photos of the flowers on this article are beautiful, but there were also many people there – also dressed beautifully(!) and it would have been nice to see some smiling faces of the organisers and the guests among the pictures of the flowers.

Yes indeed your suggestion above is very inviting. For those of us from Giraudel and Eggleston, who are living abroad, it would have been great to see the smiling faces of our people snapped with those beautiful flower designs.

However, thanks to you Elton, for those beautiful snaps. Blessings!

No rain? They were dressed beautifully? No jeans and the likes? This is what I like about Dominicans, generally they always dress appropriately and also for church. I live in a country where the majority of people wear jeans and running shoes and sometimes even to church. It is a real scandal. Could you believe that? It is as if they have no proper clothes.

@Jenny James May 20, 2013 “I was there many many years ago as a lil girl”

And if you are the daughter of Mrs. Ruth James, I know you as a little girl as well–because I was a teacher in Giraudel, and she was our School’s Principal Teacher

I am sure it is you here, because her little daughter was also named Jenny. Your brother Orville was one of my students–how can I forget such a beautiful lady of heart, soul, and Spirit–like your mother–we all loved her then and we still do today!

Thank you for commenting on the celebration of flowers in our Giraudel. Blessings!
