IN PICTURES: Parade of Uniformed Groups

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As part of the island’s celebration of Independence, the Parade of Uniformed Groups took place at the Windsor Park Stadium on Monday, November 3.

During the event a number of Dominicans were recognized for their service to Dominica and Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, delivered his annual Independence Day speech.

The highlight of the day was the parade itself which drew thunderous applause from those who attended.

The crowd in the stand is the smallest i have ever seen for an
    independence military parade..

I am guessing that it may be the signs of the times.
    Election is soon.
The people are frustrated.

Lovely Dominica, you were at your best on Monday November 3rd 2014, in numbers, presentation, national pride, warmth and enthusiasm! Even traditional absentees were there to be counted! Good job all! That’s my truth!

My visiting friends were absolutely thrilled!

      Twet

These guns have always been there and have never been meant to kill anyone. They have featured at the parade of uniformed groups for decades and with every single government!

You people probably go to sleep and wake up wishing hell and damnation on Dominica, but thank God for so many praying citizens to disperse your doom and gloom!

Amidst all constraints with written musical competence and Govt. financial support being key , the GOVT. BAND (Music Lovers) needs membership!!!! There needs to be a national drive in improving the composition of this marching brass band. (visibly reduced number of trumpet players, increase in tenor sax players, euphonium section practically non-existent, etc. etc). In essence the band needs more members for a more explosive and dynamic sound.

You know ASP Andrew is in Command when you see that level of parade – missed his presence on the Parade Square for some years. Wish him a happy retirement when it comes along.
