As part of the island’s celebration of Independence, the Parade of Uniformed Groups took place at the Windsor Park Stadium on Monday, November 3.
During the event a number of Dominicans were recognized for their service to Dominica and Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, delivered his annual Independence Day speech.
The highlight of the day was the parade itself which drew thunderous applause from those who attended.
See photos below.
Thanks DNO for showing off my lovely Dominica.
thanks DNO
The crowd in the stand is the smallest i have ever seen for an
independence military parade..
I am guessing that it may be the signs of the times.
Election is soon.
The people are frustrated.
Suit yourself Mr. Mrs. Miss Truth if creating your own truth makes you happy, go right ahead!
Lovely Dominica, you were at your best on Monday November 3rd 2014, in numbers, presentation, national pride, warmth and enthusiasm! Even traditional absentees were there to be counted! Good job all! That’s my truth!
My visiting friends were absolutely thrilled!
The pictures are beautiful. What a parade of groups. Dominicans did it again in numbers on their National Independence Day.
Excellent show! Well practiced and rehearsed.
All I would like to know is, who are all these guns supposed to KILL…
Maybe they are replicas?
Twet
These guns have always been there and have never been meant to kill anyone. They have featured at the parade of uniformed groups for decades and with every single government!
You people probably go to sleep and wake up wishing hell and damnation on Dominica, but thank God for so many praying citizens to disperse your doom and gloom!
No boycotts this year Linton? I guess you are finally up to Nation building now, I guess you finally realize you cant sell your divisive ideas to the people. Anyway on a more positive note, Congratulations to the Gov and ppl of Dominica, keep moving forward step by step. May God always bless
Election is soon.
Very spectacular Happy Indreependence .Our nation our responsibility
Happy 37th Anniversary to especially Dominican residents.

Amidst all constraints with written musical competence and Govt. financial support being key , the GOVT. BAND (Music Lovers) needs membership!!!! There needs to be a national drive in improving the composition of this marching brass band. (visibly reduced number of trumpet players, increase in tenor sax players, euphonium section practically non-existent, etc. etc). In essence the band needs more members for a more explosive and dynamic sound.
The youths should be encouraged to join as members.
The jokers CODPF showed up despite all the talk of 0%
Tell does any D/can have C.O Jones anymore?
The current President in opposition and running the trade union would make it happen. So where is Mr. Civil Service Union President/GS> Not effective I guess cannot make his cattle drink not even from 1 of the 365streams we have?lol
Blow de horn CS of DA has no C,O Jones at all.
You guys crack me up? Weren’t you guys venting on dno saying there was going to be a sick out? Where is it?
If I recall, last year they were asked to boycott the celebrations. They can’t keep patriotic Dominicans away from their National Independence Day celebrations.
HAPPY 36 BIRTHDAY my Beloved Country DOMINICA
though i am far from u i take pride in my culture. this is so beautiful
Biting my nails…wishing I was a part of this celebration
Love This!!!
You know ASP Andrew is in Command when you see that level of parade – missed his presence on the Parade Square for some years. Wish him a happy retirement when it comes along.
Happy Independence to all! May God continue to shower his richest blessings on this blessed land and its people.
Such a proud moment!! This pomp & circumstance exudes my pride in our beautiful Island. God bless Dominica!!!!
