PM Skerrit wants quick access for the Region to climate change funding

PM Skerrit addressing the CARICOM meeting in Guyana

As the region battles more intense and frequent climatic events, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit wants global funding initiatives for adaptation and mitigation to avoid the usual sluggish disbursement practices of other global initiatives.

Prime Minister Skerrit, the outgoing CARICOM Chairman, made the point in his address to the Opening Ceremony for the 28th Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads in Guyana, Thursday, during which he recounted devastating climatic events under his chairmanship, including the destructive passage of hurricane Mathew across The Bahamas and Haiti in October last year.

Haiti reported 500 deaths, 120,000 people with houses destroyed or severely damaged, 1.5 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance and devastation to the agricultural sector which affected the country’s food supply. The Bahamas suffered about US500 million worth of damage, especially to agriculture, fishing and infrastructure.

Dominica also has its taste of widespread devastation earlier in the year when Tropical storm Erika wiped out millions of dollars worth of houses, agriculture and infrastructure. St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia also had to grapple with unusual weather phenomena.

Prime Minister Skerrit says the widespread devastation across the region emphasises the need to implement the measures in the Paris Climate Change Agreement, particularly the Green Climate Fund, established to assist in adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change.

“It is critical that there must be relatively quick access to this Fund by those it is intended to assist,” Skerrit told the Meeting.

“As laudable as it is, it will be of minimal impact, if disbursement is as sluggish as has been the experience with other institutions and agencies,” he said.

There are no evidence of climate change, maybe that is why president Trump has struck all reference to climate change from the government’s website. The only people that is benefiting from the climate change agenda are the bankers and their crooked friends, trying to increase taxes on the poor people. If anybody is contributing to global warming is the government of Dominica with no regulation on vehicle exhaust during vehicle registration, burning of garbage anytime anywhere clean your back yard first before you speak on the global backyard of climate change.

What has the Government of Dominica done to show it is serious about Climate Change? At the very least there should be a Climate Change law and a department of Climate Change with young professional qualified in Natural Resource, Environmental Management and Climate Change. These persons would develop and co-ordinate Climate Change project.
What about incentives to Dominicans to building climate resilient buildings and to invest in clean energy. Stop complaining about not getting other people’s money and do something to show we serious about Climate Change. Then the funds will flow.
GOD helps those who help themselves.

Let’s hope if you are still in office when you get money from the climate change crooks, you will give us full accounts of how the money is being spent.

About climate change, here is what the premier advisory body had to say about climate change: “The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers can be put to be caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.“ – Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations.

So we are the enemy and must be managed via a one-world government, then curbed/ culled so the earth would have priority over us which, by the way it totally unbiblical.

And the People of Dominica want quick responses to these burning questions:
Why was Alireza Monfared issued a Diplomatic Passport in the first place?
What was Monfared’s role as a diplomat and how did it benefit our Country?
Did you know of Monfared’s oil shipping endeavors prior to his arrest?
Did you know that illegal oil was being shipped with Dominican flagged oil tankers?
Why did your Government harbor Monfared in Dominica AFTER you learned that he was a “person of interest”?
How many Diplomats do we have in total?
What are their names, locations and roles?
Was it treason when you went behind Piere Charles’ back to negotiate with the People’s Republic of China on switching diplomatic relations from Taiwan?
If not, please explain why it isn’t.
Are you ashamed that Gonsalves fooled you on the Internatonal Airport issue then went ahead and built his own?
How do you propose to fill all these new Hotel Rooms that are currently under construction?
    Do you sell…

      ,,,diplomatic passports?
How can you afford an apartment in New York where the rent exceeds your monthly income?
Do you really own villas, houses in St. Kitts and Barbados, etc.?
If so, how did you afford that on your $8,000.00 ec a month salary?
Why do you need to travel with so many armed security? Are you the United States President?
Or, are you really that afraid of your own people?
Do you feel that you are above the people and therefore, do not need to answer to them?
      DO YOU SELL DIPLOMATIC PASSPORTS?

Scrounging again Skerrit, trying to lay your hands on other countries’ taxpayers money as if you are entitled to it. If I were Europe i would say, screw you., you are selling passports to people that normally we would not even grant a visa. What are you contributing to combating climate change yourself?. All you want to do is take gullible people’s money and make noise when you don’t get it. Disgraceful, mauvais maniere.

Naturally CBI program is limited and we can not solely depend on it. We must look for alternative sources of government revenue hence we must find innovative ways of stimulating longterm and sustainable economic growth. My suggestion is that we sick to improve our manufacturing , agriculture and tourism industries. I remind our politician whether labour or workers, I advise or economists private or public sector to get the job of developing our national economy on stream. I am also asking locals to find creative ways of devoloping useful skills that could redound to the develment of Dominica as a whole because if we dont D/ca will colasped

The whole climate change situation is contrived. NASA with the US Air Force and several other agencies on a global front are involved in geoengineering the planet. Translation, changing the weather whenever they feel like it and also employing weather modification in weather weaponization, e.g. drought, floods, hurricanes, etc. They can cause or stop any of these bases on the mixture of chemical substances that they emit from the planes which leave the tell tale chemtrails and change the skies and weather within 24 hours. Skerrit is just playing the game of ignorance. What else would the global elite expect from what they consider to be third world nations. What a scam and horse and pony show under the heading of another conference.

So happy the other Caricom leaders must have gotten a dossier about you..I HOPE THAT YOU STILL HAVE SHAME BUDS!!But to me that is fantastic news!

  15. Skerrit is so ignorant, I wonder if that guy is in his right mind, I know he is delusional, he exist is a state of delusions and he seem to just spew any nonsense which pops into his head.

“PM Skerrit wants quick access for the region to climate change funding,” and with the same breath, he babbles about global funding. If there is an existing pool of money somewhere, sleeping and he wants quick access to that sleeping money. How can he in the same breath be asking for global funding!

Money you want to put into your pocket, so you running off your mouth hoping to capitalize on free money, when Dominica is not a contributor to climate change and global warming!
