A woman believed to be in her late forties or early fifties in currently in police custody after she was found at the home of a Haitian couple in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
According to information reaching Dominica News Online, the woman entered the Copthall residence and was asking for the baby which the couple had one month ago.
“She entered the house and asked for the baby. Then she asked for water. The woman not crazy. She is from Mahaut. Either she is a witch or she is a thief but a thief takes things and she didn’t take anything,” the Haitian national explained.
“She then asked for some water and we didn’t give her. We called the police and she was arrested,” he added.
It’s a situation the President of the Dominica Haiti Friendship Association, Fransco Moise, has described as worrying.
“I got a call from the owner of Kings Garment at about 4: am and he informed me about the incident and we want the matter rectified. It is very strange,” he said.
“I am here to protect the Haitian people and I won’t want anything bad to happen to them. What I can’t understand is what the woman wants with a one month old baby,” he queried.
There are over 1000 legal Haitians living in Dominica.
WHAT NONSENSE IS THAT, SO MUCH DOMINICAN IS IN MY HOME TOWN ANTIGUA,DONT BE LIKE GUYS WOW THAT SAD.HEART OUT TO THE HAITIANS IN DOMINICA.
To all the Dominicans that say send haitians back you should first ask for Guadeloupe, martinique,St maartin, BVI, USA, Canada, UK, Anguila ” I cannot evn say antigua and barbados again because of freedom of movement” to send back your mothers, fathers sisters, brothers aunts, oncles, parain and marain that sending your barrels and western union checks for allu. I hate it when dominicans try to target haitians .. but dominicans at the bottom of the barrel and still trying to drag down and disgrace people when u are no better. U shout witchcraft stop being morons non of that stuff is real u just make urself sound uneducated and foolish. i am so ashamed to be from D’ca when I hear things like that so ashamed.. is a good thing i have my 2other passports to escape with
ITS NOT ABOUT DEPORTING THEM IT IS BASICALLY FINDING OUT HOW SHE GOT INTO THE HOUSE AT THAT EARLY HOUR IN THE MORNING AND WHY DID SHE ASK FOR WATER IM SCARED LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS DOMINICA
That’s just the icing on the cake.
come on man i can’t beleive what i am seeing on DNO!! ppl sayin to send the hation nationals back in their country? a country lik Dominica where alot of us live aboard and send money home for our family or where alot are thinking of moving to an other country . i live overseas and it hurts me and gets me angry whn i hear the political parties taking deportation of strangers as their lead quote . at this point of time: 21st cent . ppl minds shld hav grown up by now on that matter . is true their hands are not clean but dominicans own eirther .
PS: a wonder all you not yet bring it to political matter.
there is a high level of spiritual wickedness going on in our lovely dominica. but when the evildoers rise against the righteous to eat up their flesh, they stumbled & fell. jah guide & protect your children from the hands of the evil men.
lolllolll loll boy look kix. DNO is kix central wi pal. when u had a long hard day just come home, escalier urself wherever n read d comments under stories on dno zaw kay dormi bien apres sa
DNO, I find this one very disturbing to me as a Dominican. I know you are so strict when dealing with comments (especially political comments against the government)and to see you put something like this in your news is really giving my country a bad name.
This news item is not from information gathered from the police; it is strictly from a Haitian couple and supported by Fransco Moise.
After reading this article and comments posted by fellow readers, I am left with many questions. Since according to you, police arrested a Haitian home invader can you please ask the police to answer the following questions:
1.How did the Dominican lady get in the house of a couple at 4am?
2.Did they open for her or did she break and open the door?
3. Why did the couple feel so comfortable to entertain a person at 4am?
4.We are told she asked for two things; a. the baby b. water. We know according to the Haitian, they did not give her water but what about the baby? Did they give it to her to hold or anything?
5. According to their information provided to DNO, they seem to know the lady very well cause they gave her age, village she from, she not crazy, implied that she is not a thief and one has to conclude that she is a witch. Why entertain a witch at this time of the day?
6. If she did not break and open then why did the police arrest her?
To me these are important questions that should have been answered before this item made its way to the www since it paints an ugly picture of Dominica and the way we treat haitians in Dominica.
Let me tell all you something . I work with haitians. And they not nothing soft. they are the best lawyers u can find . They like to knell down for u. When they lie and cry . Ev ve yu amaa qi ar nuh bodeh ah bush yu
Went to Anguilla in 1990, saw ground provisions and plantain left in a booth. Asked about that. The driver told me that it was not abandoned but the persons who sell there are Dominicans. Asked why would they just leave their stuff out for people to steal. He replied that no one will steal since Dominicans are very good at voodoo! Just let not point fingers for we share the reputation too!
THEM HAITIAN PEOPLE A PROFESSIONALS LIAR I HAV WORKED WITH THEM IN THE U S AND ST MARTIN AND THEY A NO GOOD PEOPLE I SAY ALL A THE SAME LIKE TO CARRY NEWS FOR THE BOSS TO LIKE THEM AND THEY STILL CANNOT DO THE WORK I DONT LIKE THEIR WAYS
utter nonsense. You worked with that Haitian couple in SM and the US.. ignorance is truly bliss.
i wonder who more deadly in the soucouyant vibes…. haitians or dominicans lol… we know in the south have some ‘harry potter’ gurus….
send them home. dominica cant take care f them they only cuttin dominicans share short
It has began.I knew it, it was just a matter of time.
I think she is mentally disturbed.Just my 2 cents
pieces missing to that story dominicans hv dirty hands haitian hv dirty hands so lets not point fingers i need d police to say wat d woman call and say and lets stop asking police to deport them haitians im a dominican living abroad. same how i leave my country and live in another man country same how them haitians can come dominca them haitian like dominica because they are welcome
Really, my people need to stop talking about Haitians as if they are “nobodies”. Referring to them as “those haitians” isn’t nice at all.
Voodoo existed in Dominica long before the Haitian nationals started residing there, so stop behaving as if soukoyan and loogawoo activities were non-existent in Dominica.
Naturally, Haitians are very family-oriented and most work very hard to take care of their families, that’s more than I can say for many of my people. So, stop hating.
It is rather ironic that a Dominican national residing in the United States, whether legally or otherwise, still a stranger, yet calls for the deportation of another stranger in his homeland. How sad and selfish.
I am not saying those who misbehave should not be dealt with justly, but deporting one on the basis of nationality is not justifiable. The same amount of love God has for Dominicans, HE has for the Haitians. There will come a time when nationality won’t matter.
i know u are one of them. they need to go back to their country and leave us alone, they are putting more curse in our land
WELCOME DOMINICA. WE IN SXM KNOW WHAT WE LIVING WITH THOSE HAITIANS. ONE DAY YOU ALL WILL KNOW. THOSE PPL DONT LEAVE THEIR BAD HABBIT AT HOME, THEY TRAVEL AND SPOIL PPL COUNTRY WITH IT
With all due respect SXM, there are many Dominicans wreaking havoc in other countries – perhaps you are not one of those, but when that happens, the culpability is placed on all DOMINICANS. Is that fair? likewise, not all Haitians carry “their bad habbit” to other people’s country. Stop stereotyping.
dominicans go with their bad habbits too,, wats ur point,, chupess
but that story is not even 1% complete
What is voodoo and what is ka-fo-lik be cuz voodoo is african it is bad for u but what u do not know is older than us.
“I got a call from the owner of Kings Garment at about 4: am and he informed me about the incident and we want the matter rectified. It is very strange,” she said.
“I am here to protect the Haitian people and I won’t want anything bad to happen to them. What I can’t understand is what the woman wants with a one month old baby,” she queried.”
DNO PLEASE CLARIFY. WHO IS THE SHE REFERRED TO OR IS THIS A QUOTE FROM FRANSCO MOISE? GET IT STRAIGHT PLEASE.
ADMIN: If the quote is after Fransco Moise, doesn’t standard English dictate that it is her quote since no other names were mentioned after her?
u too childish
I always hear anytime a soucoyah suck you they must come to your house and ask for something: Salt, sugar, water, anything.
for tru so that night my son kept crying all night and the next day a woman come and sit on my step and tell me she want water is that that happen dere, papa.
i am concern that since we hv the haitians living in our beatiful island sweet dominica has alot of evils and home breakage ….are we so blind to see all the evil and caos in this country ,,,,i believe all haitians should go back home to their country. their government got enough money to rebuild there country!!!!!!
Well those hatians maybe accustom of giving bady away for sale. Who is that Mahaut woman
Haitians are not only selling their children they also use them for sacrifice, by killing them this is strange there is now to it
It really hurts me when you use the phrase “those Haitians” as if they are from space. Can you be a little more refined.
I waiting for the real story. I hear the woman is also HAITIAN and there is some money twist to all of this. Matter of fact they all lived together at one point in time. We go see
“what I can’t understand is what the woman wants with a one month old baby”. Neither can I understand. This is bizarre. The story is yet to unfold, so I await to hear more.
She knew a baby was there because she has been there before, either she is crazy or she is his other woman
is his woman that there. he lying to both of them. how you and the wife not sleeping together but allu have baby
Send them haitens back to there home country.
I take it you have no relatives living in other people’s country. how insensitive of you.
There’s more to, Dominicans opening their doors to Haitians when they are not welcome elsewhere, this was the wrong move however our politicians bring them in the island for a reason, the Americans no longer welcome them that is the reason the coast guard intercept their boats on their waters
Since they begin to land in DA the island and it’s peoples are going down the drain, Haitians in the USA, they were all against president Obama, when you people keep saying that they are black, they do not like their own Haitian people what make you Dominicans think that opening your doors to them was a great idea, when they finish cut down all your trees, rent your houses then no one will be able to dwell in the houses etc it will be too late for you Dominicans
The woman entered the house and asked for THE baby. She did not put up a fight; the police was called and she just stayed there until they came to arrest her. That story does not make much sense. She is from Mahaut? How did she enter the house in the wee hours of the morning? Tell me more.
ayo duminicans have too much drama!!!!!! ok why did the police arrest her ? stuppppppppppppppppssssssssssss
My biggest questions are – how the hell she entered the house? where did she pass? hmmmmm just thinking out loud.
well it is well known that voodoo is part of the Haitian culture, but it does not mean that all Haitians are involved in that culture, also the Haitians are playing a good roll in our economy now they live, work and spend their money right here on like our people who go online or abroad to shop and live. something happen at that Haitian family home they did the right thing and call the police so lets not brand they. just a reminder Dominicans live all over the world and some do good things and some do bad.
If you were awear of the haitian movement you would see when they all gather at uniturstfer and western union sending back there money. First they dont pay incomtax, nor social security and the social security takes six months before they receive a card, not until they get the card they start paying because they lie to social security, thay they are not yet working, is only when they get a problem with there employer that they run to labour and social security, they do therr and four jobs and only one pays the social security. Haitian dont eat heavy, they ecornomise, involve in large sums of sub, which is a savings, they send all they way back to haiti for clothing anytime they have haitians coming to D/a and when the R.E.A.C.H has clothing for sale $50. they are always there, please look at there dressing, are they every dirty? So tell us apart from Mr. King and those who have buses and the bar-ba-shops, how many haitian gives back to the country. I am a Dominican and i am self-employ making a contribution to my country, they Haitians are sending back all thay they can to help there people and because of the way they lived there lives it makes it possible to develop there lives, they dont spend over the sum of money they have and they live a simple life. from nothing to something. So when you say they work and spend their money here. they cook a meal in the morning that takes them to work and satisfie them in the aftenoon, they dont take a large supper unlesss if they cook late. they work long hours to cover their expense and engage them self with their familes. So Giving, if you realy knows the haitian way better please explain.
DNO this story is very strange. I would really like to hear from the mouth of the police the exact words of the report which was made to them. I hope we are not imputing that the report to the police included some reference to soucouyant just because the persons making the report were Haitians.
what the doing in dominica? deport all of them.
Is that the way you feel?? What are Dominicans doing in Antigua, Guadeloupe, St. Marteen, the U.S., England and the world over? Should they deport all of them?
Give me the name of your relatives living overseas so I can have them deported back to Dominica.
and i also hope they deport your relatives living overseas that sending you d barrels u enjoy so much.
get a brain bossman
buh they working for SKERRIT ayo blind,
you are an idiot Boss man… a reall fool!
i am sure u have illegal relatives some where out there,, so shusshhhhhhhhh>>
hmmm d way myself see that is like they trying to give we dominicans a bad name.first thing that come in them haitians mind is d lady is a witch.common she could be crazy too.so don’t bring you all nonsense in our place; can’t even believe DNO post that stupez
Well if she is crazy as you suggest. How did she get into the couples’ home at that time in the morning?
maybe that was the mistress and the man was lying saying he and the wife separated but then he having baby with her. It could be many things………
crazy people do alot of things, like walking many miles and doing things that u neva expect them to do; and also i think this story doesn’t add up.i think they should investigate that more cause it sounds like the haitians are not telling the full story.
Wonder how she know there was a baby in the house. hmmmmmmmn. Strange one.
I wonder how she knew she had a baby???
I know for a fact that in bemjamins park in possie i have seen 6 people that sit in a circle in the middle of the park with their back to each other at 2:00am in the night. 3 of them i have not seen since i was a child but they looking the same way i remember them to be 45 years ago. everytime i turn over my shoulder i see them but when i facing them direct they disapear. i have seen them twice.
ROTFLMAO!! Mystical you see jumbie! Lol .. but on the real, maybe you should seek professional help.
how comes nobody duh see dem yet mystical? you alone dat seeing dem? well maybe they guarding the big house you making dere for you….. foolish boy!! those women just practicing their yoga
I think it is time you see a psychiatrist or if that does not work, change your weed supplier.
yow this comment had me cracking up lmao, dno is de best look jokes!!!
them Haitians start back again……………
they do RIGHT
Am I understanding this clearly, Is the woman a Haitian national but lives in Mahaut
well wat can i say
…is a clear case that the woman must have been mentally ill. These haitians must note, Dominica is a peaceful, God-fearing nation. Witches may exisit, but a woman from Mahaut being all the way up that area, wouldnt be so public about it. The haitians should know that well.
Dominica for sure, too many silly excuses. I wonder what you would have said if it was the other way aroud where a Haitian woman invaded the house of a Dominican couple at 4am. To say Dominica is peaceful and God-fearing suggest that you are just being bias and defensive. Why are you saying “These Haitians must note.” Man it was a Dominican that was arrested at a Haitian House. You guys just Hate Haitians. While most Dominicans are peaceful and God-fearing, you will agree that quite a few especially in recent times are dead dangerous.
It is amazing how the Haitians are being lambasted when it was a Dominican woman who got arrested for invading the people’s home. People do not take their time to read and understand but are quick to put up the silliest comments…..Stupes!
do u remember the case of the 2 ladies in the city facing each other? that was public!
I think i am being mis-understood, but that aight, we are free to draw our own conclusions.
:oTHEY STILL CARRY THIS REPUTATION WHERE EVER THEY GO VODOOops:
some ppl like u never cease to amaze me!
Be quiet. You Dominicans are the ones going by them to do voodoo for you!
hmmmmm..all i can say..allu thinking voodoo playing..hmmmm
waiting for the story to unfold. We have baby snatchers now? well it’s carnaval time. All jumbie outside.
:D LOL U R SO RITE!!! I can name a few ….
