President of Dominica His Excellency Dr Nicholas Liverpool said Dominica has benefited in a number of areas since the establishment of diplomatic relations with Canada.
Dr. Liverpool was at the time officially receiving the credentials of the new Canadian High Commissioner to Dominica, Her Excellency Ruth Archibald.
“Dominica has benefited from significant assistance provided by your government though CIDA, the CARCOM Canada Joint Trade and Economic Committee, Canadian Seasonal Farm Workers Programme among others,” he said.
He told the ceremony at Morne Bruce today that he expects the new High Commissioner to continue the work of her predecessors in further strengthening the existing relations and the bonds of friendship between the two countries. He also expressed hope that the commissioner would explore new and better means to improve and deepen bilateral cooperation.
His Excellency also complimented the government of Canada for its response to the disaster in Haiti.
Meanwhile, Her Excellency Archibald said Canada will continue to assist Dominica in its national development
Maybe Canada the US and European countries are finally waking up to the fact that China may have intentions of trying to make Dominica a Colony and they intend to try and stop that from happening. Britain needs to step in and re-claim their former Colony, Dominica. That would be a good thing for Britain and Dominican’s.
