H.E. Charles Angelo Savarin, President of Dominica, has written to Archbishop Kelvin Felix on his appointment by Pope Francis as Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.
In his letter dated January 13, 2014, President Savarin stated that news of the
appointment of Archbishop Felix as Cardinal “has brought us incredible joy.”
President Savarin told Archbishop Felix that his elevation as Cardinal is a wonderful gift to the Province
of Castries, to the entire region and especially to all Dominicans.
“As the first Cardinal to be appointed from within the ranks of the Antilles Episcopal Conference
(ACE), your appointment signifies the recognition the AEC has gained in the eyes of His Holiness. It
will surely serve to inspire and motivate the clergy in our region, led by their bishops and archbishops,
to work even harder in caring for the flock of Jesus Christ. The importance of this cannot be
overemphasized since we live at a time when a creeping materialism and secularism are slowly
eroding biblical values and fostering disrespect for the dignity of the human person and institutions of
society.”
Congratulatory message from Prime Minister Skerrit
Prime Minister Skerrit believes that the appointment of Archbishop Felix is in “recognition of his
exceptional contribution to the church and his leadership in the diocese of Castries over so many
years and his knowledge of the workings of the Catholic Church, knowledge of the faith”.
The Prime Minister said that the appointment of Archbishop Felix as Cardinal is an inspiration for Dominicans.
“For us, as Dominicans, it is also a very important reference point that someone who could come from a very small village in Dominica and not from a well to do family has been able through his own scholarly work, his own dedication to hard work, his commitment to this job and to his faith that over the years as a result of these things and other things he has been promoted from time to time within the framework of the Catholic Church. So for Catholics in Dominica, Catholics in the Caribbean and
indeed Latin America and the Americas it is a real day of joy for all of us as Catholics and the citizenry as a whole. I really want to congratulate him and to say to him that we shall continue to pray for him as he prayed for all of us and to celebrate his appointment.”
Archbishop Felix will officially be ordained Cardinal at a ceremony in Rome on February 22, 2014.
H.E. Dr Nicholas Liverpool, Former President of Dominica will represent the Government of Dominica at that
ceremony.
Contratulations are in order Sir..
A lot of people trusts in the Pope of Rome,
The only hope for our people is King David’s throne,
The only throne on Earth that represents the truth
The covenant of Jah and David is it’s root.
Jah I know you disappointed in our people,
Too much of us has lost our trust in you,
Too much knees bow down today
Too much darkness pevail
Through the journey of slavery we’ve lost our selves
Four hundred years of our culture melt, melt away to nothing, Jah we need your help, oh Jah we need your help.
God – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ – has not disappointed the Dominican people!
Only Dominicans who KNOW Him know WHAT He has promised. Only they COULD be disappointed. Trust me, they are not!
God loves the people of Dominica with an unfailing love.
The beautiful Commonwealth of Dominica will be a glorious part of the coming Kingdom of God on earth. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and take Him to be your Savior you will be part of that kingdom. If not, when that day comes you will be banished into outer darkness.
“How shall we escape , if we neglect so great salvation; …” (Hebrews 2:3)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (St. John 3:16)
Yes, the Throne of David is the hope of Dominica, and the hope of every nation.
Someday soon, He who is the “Root and Offspring of David” will sit upon His rightful throne in Jerusalem. In that day, “…at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, And …every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”(Philippians 2:10,11.
When that time comes the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth like the waters cover the sea and the whole earth – including Dominica – will be filled with God’s glory!
Earthly rulers will come and go, the kingdoms of this world will fade into history, but this man will sit upon David’s Throne and rule the nations for ever and for ever.
Only one is qualified to sit upon that throne
It is not an earthly monarch.
It is not a worldly politician.
It is not a leader from one of the so-called great world religions
It is not a university scholar with letters after his name.
It is He who bears the marks of Calvary! He has has nail prints in His hands and feet and the wound of a spear in His side.
He bears the marks of death, but He is alive for ever more!
“…as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (St. John 1:12)
His name is Jesus!

I guess you forget if Jesus is your father then Mary is your mother too,and don.t forget you as a human being, and are sinner, if some one don’t have respect for your mother I don’t think you will have for them either, have some respect for Mary she was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus.
c ongrat to u on yr Position
Dominica is a small nation and young in its independence. It must give Dominicans much joy to see many of their people rise to the top in their careers.
I mention this because as I have followed DNO for maybe two years it has come to my attention. It only happens in any field because of dedication and hard work. Obviously Dominica has its share of very capable men and women.
We are aware of the negative forces that threaten our world today and the difficulties faced by young people in this generation. I congratulate Archbishop Kevin Felix as he steps into his new roll. Let wisdom and grace be given to him to preach the gospel and defend the traditional values of Biblical morality, marriage, and family life that are the Catholic heritage.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.
Is President Savarin & PM Skerrit separate from the Govt, cause one headline saying Govt send congratulations now dem two fellas or is this another sign of incompetence on skerro part!
There is a difference between personal congratulations from two men and the official congratulations from the government.

This certainly a great day for Dominica and the region. This appointment brings currency value to our country. I offer my congratulations to Archbishop Felix for his appointment to Cardinal, a very senior position in his religious organization.
I wonder what is his request! “Pray to Mother Mary for me?”
Cease your sarcasm. You have much to learn. You will do well to ‘honor’ her as Mother of God, the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ. She will help you to avoid Hell when you will have one foot on earth and one foot in the jaws of Hell. She will pull you out of descending to Hell.
Some Catholics who have predeceased us wrote lovingly and extensively about her. Read the book, Devotion to Mary. Another one, The Joys of Mary among others.
We Catholics pray:
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and art the hour of our death. Amen!
Another prayer of Catholics which I also love to pray is The Memorare:
Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen!
There are more prayers to her for her intercession. I have much to share with you which will enlighten you about the Mother of God.
You ask if he will pray to Our blessed mother Mary for you I am very happy you recognize her as your mother, because she is the one that God chose to be the mother of his son Jesus Christ and she is blessed among all woman.
Didn’t you see QUOTATION marks?
Don’t be foolish.
Show a little respect
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist
