One of Dominica’s hotels has been featured in the travel section of leading magazine, National Geographic.

The Rosalie Bay Resort, located on the eastern section of the island, was among 46 “unique lodges” from around the globe featured in the magazine’s “Dream Vacations with National Geographic.”

“Rosalie Bay is built between beach and jungle on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Take a guided bird or plant walk, hike in the jungle and learn about the lodge’s sea turtle conservation program,” the magazine states in describing Rosalie Bay Resort.

National Geographic said properties chosen for their “unique lodges” collection “are not only known for their excellence, but also for their environmental sustainability and their support of local cultures.”

National Geographic has a global circulation of 6.8-million per month.

Now this is what I call a real compliment, and well deserved! Secret Bay, Jungle Bay and Rosalie Bay – you note all are bays, or “anse’s” in our old French creole? All are upmarket resorts, carefully created to be in tune with their natural environment. This is the way to go for Dominica folks. Don’t let us sell ourselves too cheap, leave that to other pile-‘m-high-sell-‘m- cheap, sun-sand-sex places. Concentrate on quality, let’s cash in on our uniqueness and make some real money. All those in favour say Aye!
