It is with profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing of our very own, Michael ‘Boople’ LaFleur- a calypso legend who left his mark at Loubiere where his calypso prowess started, and Dominica by extension.
On behalf of the people of Loubiere, and Roseau South, I join my family to extend our heart-felt condolences to the family and friends of our fallen brother. We also register our sincerest condolences to his calypso family and friends.
In this difficult hour, the people of Loubiere and Roseau South also join me in sharing the grief of the deceased’s family and friends. Our people stand by the family and people of Loubiere with our sincerest prayers – may the Almighty grant the deceased family with strength and fortitude to bear with such enduring loss.
Boople also known as Bou-loo-boom had brought delight and glee to persons of all walks of life. He had become, over time, a national icon who mastered the art of singing crafty, and clever compositions some of which were written by himself.
We have lost a brother, a friend and a gifted calypsonian who should be remembered for his significant contribution in the advancement of Loubiere and the commonwealth of Dominica.
Boople should be remembered not only as a great calypsonian but also as a family man, and community-oriented person who was always willing to add to anything which was positive in the advancement of others-he has left that legacy for us to follow!
He may now sing for our Lord and Savior!
*Facepalm* Dont make the situation a political thing….he is just sending out his sympathies and sadness to the fallen fellow and his family.. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest in Peace..Amen

Why are some Dominicans so dam stupid or perhaps it is a lack of education . Or it might just be a few laborites as usual talking nonsense . What is wrong with Joshua extending condolences to Boople’s family ? ” he that is without sin cast the first stone ” .

You are a worst disappointment. Who are you? Playing God? What makes you think you are better than he? You have nothing good to say on this Website; boring words. Your day will come. Thank God Sikiri has resurrected. Where has he been all these weeks and months? Nice message anyway, although a bit repetitive. The Roseau south people are waiting to hear from their Parl Rep. The budget is coming up. Hope we hear from him.

Gosh I will really miss him at the Calypso Tents and Finals. “Air Dominica” was one of his best loved songs. “Pirates of the Caribbean” can always get me dancing.
