The Dominica Cooperative Societies League Ltd has received a consignment of water and dry goods from the St. Lucia Credit Union to be distributed in the wake of Tropical Storm Erika which devastated sections of Dominica.
Manager of the League Aaron Dalrymple, along with vice president of the League, Carlisle Jno Baptiste, collected the goods from the port and immediately started distribution.
One bale of water was given to the Dominica Police Force who has been stretched by working long hours.
Jno-Baptiste took time out to extend congratulations to the men and women of the police force who he says “continues to work tirelessly saving life and property in the aftermath of the storm.”
President of the Police Welfare Association ( PWA ), Jefferson Drigo, received the water on behalf of the police force and said he was grateful for the kind gesture.
“We are very grateful for the water it will go a long way towards our officers who are hard working,” he said.
Water was also delivered to DEXIA for further distribution.
Dalrymple said he was delighted to assist on behalf of the league and extended gratitude to the OECS sister credit union.
“On behalf of the board, credit and compliance along with the staff I want to say how grateful we are to receive this gesture from our sister credit union. Thank you St . Lucia and may God bless you all,” he said.
