A tropical storm warning has been issued for Dominica as Tropical Storm Bertha moves towards the island.
The storm formed in the Atlantic late Thursday.
Tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 24 hours.
At 5:00 am, the center of Tropical Storm Bertha was located near latitude 13.0 north, longitude 57.0 west or about 325 miles to the south east of Dominica.
Bertha is moving towards the west northwest near 20mph.
On this track, the storm is expected to move through the Central Lesser Antilles and Dominica on Friday evening.
Maximum sustained winds are near 45mph.
Bertha is expected to produce tropical storm force winds and rainfall amounts of 1 – 3 inches.
Preparations should be complete and residents exercise extreme caution.
