During the passage of Tropical Storm Erika Petite Savanne was hit very hard.

So hard that the community was named a ‘special disaster area’ and voluntary evacuation order was given.

By August 31, 409 residents were evacuated from Petite Savanne.

Local company Platimum Security played a major role in the evacuation process and has put a video together.

I understand that the song writer wants the video pulled down as he wants them to pay for using the song. You would think that in a time like that with such a beautiful song that rights with videos like these will be over looked. If they are successful in pulling this video due to this it removes all the beauty of the song and it will kill the song and the spirit of Dominincans. Why are we so wicked in such critical times.

My wife and I have been to Dominica four times over the past 8 years and have found to be the most beautiful place in the Islands full of strong, tough and good people and it pains me deeply to see the devastation you have to deal with and will have for a long time and but I know you will.
I was stunned to see the comments that were posted, until I saw the source-Fox News-that said it all-it is a brain damaged organization that appeals to worst part of an equally damaged audience and is a sad cancer in American media. There is a saying in America-“opinions are like assholes-everyone got one”- probably most of those jerks have never been out of their hometowns let alone travel to a place anything like your land. We wish you well and be safe .

I have never been to Dominica but this video brought tears to my eyes, too. My daughter goes to the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas where many of the heartbroken students have ties to Dominica. My biggest concern is that people on the US mainland will forget about the devastation caused by Erika simply because the storm dissipated before it reached Florida and therefore didn’t affect them. I hope that people in Dominica will be able to keep their needs in the public eye and that other nations will help everyone rebuild. Prayers from the USA!

Oh lord give us strength tears running down my eyes without I noticing one time you there one time you not there. We shall rise again. Some people need to stop blaming all of this on d pm. This is not the time for this trust me! Don’t you worry Erika Dominica shall rise again. We all need to work together. It’s the only way. I’m praying to God that he guides us and protect us. All of us was expecting Erika, just not as big as it hit us nah. Sigh??????????

God bless Platinum security crew! You guys worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was safe. Very touching video. That song is absolutely award winning in my opinion. Great lyrics and perfect vocals. “We shall [indeed] rise again”

No matter how many times one looks at that vidio you must be touched and shed tears. cause those who experienced this must receive thraphy, untill things get back to a point of normalcy. And yes to all those who risk their lives to save others, those are the real heroes, and deserve some kind of recognition when all things are back to normal. have a cermony at the stadium to publicly honor and give out some tangible token in what ever form to all those involved, and not forgeting our Law enforcement agencies, our Police officers. let it be declared a day of thanksgiving and honor to all. I cant wait to attened such a ceremony.

Watching this made me cry. You never really know the struggle unless you’re in it. Lives will never be the same for some of these people, but we are resilient and will move forward. Hats off to those who put hands and feet together to help those in need when they needed it.
