In its 6:00 AM advisory, the Dominica Meteorological Service is projecting that unstable conditions associated with the passage of Hurricane Jerry to the north of the island chain during today into tonight are expected to produce cloudiness with scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, mainly across the northern Leewards.
By Saturday afternoon into Sunday, a tropical wave is projected to move across the area. Lingering moisture and instability associated with this wave are expected to generate shower and thunderstorm activity, which could be moderate to heavy at times, particularly on Monday into Tuesday of next week.
Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with waves peaking near 8.0 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers, particularly on the east coast, are advised to exercise caution.
