The center of ISAAC is now making it way between Dominica and Guadeloupe.
Dominica remains on a Tropical Storm WARNING.
A Tropical Storm Warning means that Tropical Storm conditions are EXPECTED somewhere within the Warning area, in this case within 6 hours, according to the Dominica Met Office.
At 5 pm, the center of Tropical Storm ISAAC was located near Latitude 16.0 North, Longitude 61.2 West or about 50 miles north of Dominica.
ISAAC is moving toward the west near 22 mph and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and ISAAC could become a hurricane by Thursday night or Friday.
Sustained winds of 30 – 50 mph with higher gusts are likely to affect Dominica as the center of the system passes the island.
Rainfall totals of 4 – 8 inches are possible across the island with even higher amounts possible over mountainous areas. Some flash flooding is likely and residents in low lying areas are advised to take the necessary precautions.
Sea conditions are expected to be about 12 feet.
Residents are asked to continue to monitor the movement of Isaac closely.
Persons in areas prone to landslides and flash flooding should exercise extreme caution.
Residents along the coastline should also be mindful of possible high sea swells.
let’s hope for the best

If you were a storm, u would attack Dominica? No storm will mess with DA. There is nothing there to destroy anyway. When a storm have places like Gwada to destroy, you think is vyay Da it want to waste its winds on? Even storms fraid allu country…LMAO..
This IS very strange … NOTHING yet.
Hope it stays like that.
Every other island has been hit with rain and winds. Barbados got heavy seas.30mph nothing too heavy …. but DA? Nada. I just saw the ferry from Gwada arrive.
We pray the best?

You must be God. It is good to be positive but with a storm/hurricane, you never know. Wait and see and hope for the best.
God is good! At some point early this morning, I could almost hear a pin drop….that’s how calm it was. Praying for the other territories along its forecasted path.
Our weather people must be looking at a different storm than the one targeted by the Caribbean satilite on Intellicast.com
i wonder which one are you looking at. its people like you who are putting other less aware individuals lives at risk by taking satellite imagery from these sites that clearly state that they are for informational purposes only and that you should listen to your local met officials, and becoming weather experts. please stop.
Citizen thus I think what you should do is take your a$$ to the beach and enjoy the weather based on your satellite. It has been dark and foggy in Dominica today.
It is better to be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and dispel all doubts
Allu please let us remain safe and hope for the best.
