Weekes demoted

Weekes

Information reaching Dominica News Online (DNO) has indicated that Claude Weekes is no long the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force.

Sources close to the development indicate to DNO that while the  police mouthpiece may have been sacked as PRO it is not  clear whether he still holds a job within the Police Force as he has left the matter in the hands of his attorney.

The source said that attorney Gildon Richards is the one to whom Weekes has turned the matter to.

DNO is following this story and will bring information as soon as it becomes available.

I need for all the churches in dominica to give their views on the matter with Inspector Weeks. here is a gentleman in his own right as a man of god trying to instill in us the mood of honesty, faithfullnes and being ourselves among other good habits, instead the pm and his calabs are demoting him. what you people do not know is that no one touches the children of god and that includes MR. INSPECTOR CLAUDIA WEEKES.

i am saddened to hear what has happened, however i rejoice with my brother because he has stood up for what he believes and no man can reward him for that step that he has taken. This goes to show the extent to which Bro Weekes’ faith propels his actions. I commend him and encourage other Christians and believers to stand up for what they believe. God will make a way of escape! Amen.

    Lovely Dominica;

When judgement comes sometimes the innocent pays for the guilty. It’s just a matter of right place and time. With the grace of the Almgihty, time becomes the healer.

    One observation:

At least the UWP administration used the legal channels to handle allegations from the public.

Dont we think an inguiry into so many allegations on Police and the labour party government is overdue??

When Eddison James and his crew had conducted investigation into the poluice force and dismissed and/or disciplined a number of police officers, some of u were silent. To this day the reputation of some of those people have been tarnished.

The police force needed to be purged from what? That Blanchard was retiring and Edison Jamesd did not want Valerie as Commissioner? So he (Edidon) made of a Commission of enquiry to get rid of the man? Up to today you have no proof of wrong doing or results from that inquiry? All you too like to pretend all you have memoire poule, condit Leblance.

Tanished? Give us a Breakkkkkkkkkk,As much I dislike the UWP individuals.By-products of poverty of mind and body. There we wholly corrupt cops then it has intensified and widened over te last 15 yrs. Those evil cops have become transformed in body and mind like those who were responsible for their demise. Some who were high and might with smooth talks like “I would like to se your eyes under candle lights at dinner by the sea.”That one who said so to a sobodinate’s wife is a shell of what he was. Let it be an example for those onstage now.Look what those who first proclaim this familiar phrase “We are onstage and incharge”.That statement stems from ideas of grandure.Fortifing the poverty of mind and body concept.Everything is for a while. live and learn those in the highlight today. Those who are/have climbed extremelyhigh and exposing their fess.

Im not surprised at the turn of events. As PRO of the police force he should be cautious of the things he said in public. Too many times, Mr. Weeks criticized the judicial system and the police with whom he has to work. How can that be tolerated. If he felt that he does not belong in that institution then leave. There are various ways of dealing with the internal politics of an organisation, but to openly castigate your own institution is wrong. Even sending message to church leaders? What was Weeks thinking.

Weekes wasn’t thinking you IDIOT he knows and believes that there are irregularities happening in the judicial system and by extension the whole country. If i know Weekes well enough he must have gotten tired of trying to deal with it intrnally but when you hadwhat happens in a relationship then when problem arises no one will believe you. So Weekeswas right to speak out. This is what a TRUE Dominican would do not hide behind some fake cloak of professionalism. And as for the church leaders they have more to pay for this decadent state that we are in right now. Mr. Weekes is a MAN of GOD and men of God are supposed to be the mouth piece against all that is unjust, unfair, dishonest and unscrupulous behavior in society. But that is ok cause as far as I can see you are one of those who would defend the bad smell emanating from the bossom of this evil system. Are you saying to me that if the man has issues with the judicial system he should just shut up?

MR. WEEKES GO RIGHT AHEAD SPEAK OUT FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE THIS BIBLICAL READ IT IN PROVERBS 31:8,9
THE BIBLE ALSO SAYS TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH IS REQUIRED. Mr. Weekes knows this and that is why he will obey GOD rather than men.

It never cease to amaze me when individuals come foward and start speaking truth to power if makes other uneasy because they feel their base is been attack, we have folks like you no matter what the truth is they a hell bent on looking the other way and that’s what you a doing but no matter how you or others feel we just start to see the gloves are been taken off and more and more people will start speaking out they had enough they just want the public to know and hear what is going on inside of the establishments.
You just have to ralize what the people need is respect and dont want anyone taking them for granted they want to be heard Weeks will survive come what may.

I haven’t read everything here, but has a replacement been named? Who is the next PRO? Is it the commissioner himself? Hmmmm…Let’s wait and see who will be informing and reaching out to the public for much needed support.

Just keep in mind that if the tone is wrong, if the words are not perfect, if there a hint of crookedness from the next PRO, the public will go deeper into its shell and solving crime will become so much more difficult. Let’s wait and see.

According to the obviously bias WIKILEAKS, Mr Weekes is guilty of insubordination. I am sure that Weekes like all other law enforcement officers took an oath of diligence , honor and good character. A man is considered an insubordinate because he chose to speak the truth? When Weekes told Bubbles that he Bubbles has not convinced the court that he owns Blaire Court and the Villas, Weekes was being an insubordinate- wow. In keeping with the culture of dishonesty, lies and racketeering among top government officials Mr Weekes should have congratulated Bubbles for the mess he made of himself in the court room. That would have have been pleasing to his superiors which interesting happens to be PM Tony and acting PM Skerrit.

In the days of Blanchard, Lestrade and even O N. Phillip there was no such allegations of corruption in government and the Police Service as there are today.

When Weekes was in office years gone by no one heard his voice. We only heard of Weekes when the allegations were affecting the Police Service. In other words, if the corruption was not in his yard(P.S) we wouldnt hear his voice.

Let us agree that his spirit is foreign to that kind of behaviour around him. Right now although he has lost favour in the eyes of his police superiors, he has found favour with the Holy and Righteous Creator and the people who abhor corruption.

Brothers or sisters whoever you may be, please go within for a moment and try to place right/wrong in their places inspite of your position.

Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it Adversity can be described as a series of unfortunate events. Just when it seems that things are going right in your life, something can happen to change your perspective and may just rocks your world. Sometimes when we are confronted with adverse situations, we may want to throw up our hands in surrender. At other times, we just say “oh well” and keep on keeping on. And then there will come times, when you want to give up and give in. It is in those times when what we are made of, will surely be tested. Whether you realize it or not, adversity in our lives is sometimes necessary for our spiritual development. There will be times when it becomes inevitable for us all to truly see just how strong the word of God is embedded in our everyday lives. Or, it may be a necessary process in order for us to move to the next level in our spiritual growth. It is at those times that we must learn to depend on God even more than we already do. The reality is that when things are going well in our lives, we become content with where we are. That is not where God necessarily wants us to be. Being a part of the Body of Christ is being willing to be stretched so that we become more like Him and less like the world. It is at times like these, that we must learn to Stand in the face of Adversity. Be blessed Inspector Weekes. Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.I’m happy for the publicity because when God does what has to be done he will publicly expose the spiritual wickedness that happens among the rulers of darkness in high places.

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Weeks for the efforts he made at his assigned duties as PRO of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force.

Mr. Weeks assigned duties as PRO was at the pleasure of the Police High Command who always have the power to appoint and disappoint.

Present Police Commissioner Carriette was once PRO and was later removed. Inspector Antoine Martin served as PRO at one time. So there is a history of rotation and a history of varied personalities occupying that assigned duty of PRO.

As a PRO of any Organisation you have to give the Official position of the Organisation. There must be a team effort to avoid embarrassing contradictions in the eyes of the public and a PRO must never get swayed by public opinion or public admiration.

How can you as PRO create a distrust between Police and the Public? How can you as PRO of the Police say that the Police is not Perfect (lol, no one is)?

Weekes you have fallen on your own words, your imperfection and you will learn from that.

I am not clear that it is a demotion if Mr. Weekes is no longer performing the role of PRO. PRO has never been known to be a rank within the Police Force. Several officers have performed in this role over the past 10 years. Maybe DNO can list their names in an update.

Having said that, Mr. Weekes has performed his police duties with distinction and represents the Police exceptionally well both in his personal and professional conduct and on his positions on crime and other anti-social problems. So, it is hoped like other PROs, he is allowed to continue to serve Dominica and its citizens with their best interests at heart. He should be proud of his overall performance and service to the public so far.

If there is more to the story, the public should be kept informed.

silence in dominica is betrayal of our moral and spritual values.
if this type of behaviour continues, after the departing of the older folks the churches will be empty every sunday, lol no collection and tith and that is when you will see a crusade of the churches to try to get the people back on track. BY THEN IT WILL BE TO LATE.

Acting inspector? PRO in the context of the DPF is more of an assignment it is not a graded position, as a matter of fact a constable could be assigned to that position. Even non police personel for example Shawn Douglas could hold that position. The reason for a PRO in any organization is to manage communication between the organization and the public. Acting inspector Weeks would have to take direction from the police comissioner in addition he would have to consult with persons within the organization, to properly perform his duties as PRO. Unfortunately Inspector Weeks was manipulated by the opposition, to believe that he as PRO of the DPF could at all times express opinions or make statements that might be contrary to what was expected of him, that is a no no.. How was he demoted? Was he moved down to sargeant, copral or constable?

    • Travaile
      September 1, 2011

U know what out our problem is in this country, we are very quick to repremand. the words spoken by Mr. weeks were his own, it is a reflection of who he is as a person; honourable. ‘ a man among men.’ he is a repellant for the ‘no gooders’, whose aim is to get their share while the rest of the population rot. so dont come here with all this bereaucratic b.s and ur blame game. I guess u r once again given the opportunity to continue draining the essence of this country, since Mr. Weeks is now demoted. We need more men like him in the public service.
It’s a shame what our ppl havve reduced themselves to. “If we stand for nothing, we’ll fall for every/anything.”

      • anonymous
        September 1, 2011

As PRO of the DPF Mr. Weeks should be representing the official position of that organization, if he is not able to do that he should have simply given up the position…

Why is Mr Weekes questioning the Judiciary? does he have a problem with decisions handed down by our courts? I think Mr Weekes should excercise more restrain in his utterances.

    • August 31, 2011
