Govt minister calls on adults to stop confusing our youth

Participants at the consultation

Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Family & Gender Affairs, Catherine Daniel has called on adults to exhibit exemplary behavior at all times to prevent the youth from losing faith in them.

She made that statement while speaking at a National Consultation held at the Goodwill Parish Hall on Wednesday.

“Let me take the opportunity as a member of the adult group to impress upon us adults the need to exhibit exemplary behavior at all times, so that the youth do not lose faith in us,” Daniel said.

According to her, sometimes, adults show youth conflicting behaviours.

“In church we behave one way; in the society, we behave one way and so we confuse our youth,” Daniel remarked. “And that is why, sometimes, we find them not wanting to come to the churches, because they are so confused.”

She continued, “We do not want to discourage them or lead them astray by the very people that they look up to for inspiration. So, let’s be straight in what we are doing.”

The minister exhorted adults never to give youth reasons to look upon them with shame or disgust “because you have failed to live up to the standards expected of you as a parent, pastor, teacher, mentor, parliamentary representative or whatever leader you are supposed to be.”

Daniel urged the youth to find inspiration from their elders.

“But most importantly, be self-motivated, scrupulous and ambitious; set high goals and pursue excellence,” she advised. “Tell yourselves I will never be a burden on society. I will rather be a catalyst for the good of society where the peace, safety and well-being of citizens takes prominence.”

The minister also encouraged leaders in society to combine their efforts, to arrest the erosion of values and escalation of negative behaviors such as immorality, lawlessness, violence and different forms of abuse, among other things, which are plaguing society today.

“And for this we too have to do self-introspection and see whether we are adding to this or whether we are making a difference to create a just and fair society,” she noted.

Everybody knows that that Minister is not the best example to follow, and why. They should have made her Minister of Education and Sports, and let Justina charles be the Church Minister instead.

Madam, are you serious..with this silly talk? “Let me take the opportunity as a member of the adult group to impress upon us adults the need to exhibit exemplary behavior at all times, so that the youth do not lose faith in us,” Daniel said.
Ms. Daniel, please go clean up your dirty political House and Backyard before you continue peeping in your neighbours yard and house looking for political mepuis and waste of our tine to read you immature garage. You have disappointed me as you have reduced your level from an educated woman teacher to one of lies and deception and playing that Dirty game of Skerrit. Why do you make a fool of yourself just for immature failed inept Skerrit. Catherine, walk the hell out of this broken corrupt Cabinet. There is nothing of substance nor value, nor respect, nor decency from the cabal and office of Skerrit. Catherine. Your Skerrit is a damn failure and educated people like you we know well from school days, you have now thrown away all th values taught.

Ms. Daniel the statement is so true but I urge you in your cabinet meetings to reiterate these sentiments because the very so call leaders you sit with are the ones guilty of breaking the moral fabric of our society and breaking people homes and families.

The destination of a nation starts in the home. If the home is dysfunctional, society becomes dysfunctional. There is a need for parenting programs for the heads of households and expectant parents. The government also has a tremendous influence on society as it sets the tone for the country. Government ministers curse like drunkards in parliament and on the political platform. They are engaged in corrupt practices, lies, dishonesty and promote divisiveness for political expediency. The goodly Minister must not only talk the talk but walk the walk. Children do not learn much from talk alone, they learn much more from action, what they see adults do.

Catherine, I know you as a teacher. You are now a Minister of government, not a minister of church but yet you have government responsibility for religion. I must ask, which religion that is. Religious business should not mix with government business. No wonder kids are confused, so am I. God has no political affiliation.

Skerrit went to a school and told the children that by a certain date (in the past), construction of the international airport would begin. A blatant lie!!

He told the world that the opposition attempted to overthrow his corrupt DLP using a stalled truck with musical speakers .An egregious lie!!As for his profligate use of money resources? A bad example!!! Using trickery? That’s his forte. He is a very bad example!!
An extremely bad role model. He said Ross left because of hurricane Maria. He lied!!!

Skerrit is the worst example for the youth! After 19 years of his leadership the result are clear to see for everybody. This man not only ruined the country but also a good portion of the citizens.
