Dominica’s star shot-putter, Treneese Hamilton, celebrated her final appearance at the CARIFTA Games by winning the gold medal in the Under-20 Girls event at the 2022 CARIFTA Games.

The game was held on Day 2, Sunday, April 17 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Hamilton launched her best throw of 14.58m on her first attempt. She defeated Britannia Johnson of Jamaica who was able to manage a best throw of 14.19 m.

Suriname’s Alicia Grootfaame placed third with a best throw of 12.97m.

According to Associate Times, while expressing pleasure over her victory, Hamilton noted, “I am very blessed and happy with my performance as I got a chance to represent my country and put my entire efforts on the table, which is an example for my teammates who are in competition yet. I really wish that our team could become able to achieve other medals as they all are capable of winning a medal.”

This is the final time for Hamilton on the CARIFTA stage as she is now looking forward to represent Dominica at other international sporting events.

Great win for Miss Hamilton and Domimica. I hope she will be well recognized for her sterling representation at the 2022 CARIFTA Games. Clearly she is Olympics material. Congratulations and best wishes

Did I miss it or what?
What’s her background? Who is she? Who are her parents? Which community she hails from? Which school is her Alma Matta? Media houses in D’ca are loosing their touch in print reporting. They are behaving like Americans. Come on DNO you all can do better. If I had written something like this in high school composition the teachers would have frowned on me.

Congratulations to the young lady on her achievements, well done. But what about the 14 year old from Marigot that represented Dominica and received a silver medal for him first time, isn’t he worth speaking about, some other countries would be so happy for that other achievement.
