Health Minister Julius Timothy has raised concerns about what he said seems to be a growing trend of buggery in Dominica.
Timothy told the Dominica Labour Party’s Delegates convention in Grand Fond on Sunday that an assessment was undertaken to determine the prevalence of men who have sex with men in Dominica and the results are alarming.
“An assessment of performance of the Ministry of Health on the eleven essential public health functions to protect and improve the health of the people was undertaken. The assessment was critical in helping define health policies which take into consideration issues of equity, efficiency and responsiveness to citizens’ expectations,” he said.
He said a study to determine the prevalence of men who have sex with men was also undertaken.
“This is becoming a very serious situation in Dominica. Men who have sex with men,” he added.
