Call for incorporating data on climate change

Dr. Johnson said there climate change has an impact on health

“There is need to incorporate global, national and regional data in climate change planning for the public health sector.”

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. David Johnson made that statement while addressing a National Stakeholder Consultation on Climate, Health Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment held at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) Acute Phychatric Unit (APU) building on Wednesday.

“There seems to be a lack of understanding of how climate change data could be used in health planning,” he said. “We need to do more to raise awareness among health practitioners and managers or the impact of climate variability and climate change on human health.”

Dr. Johnson said there seems to be a lack of understanding of how climate change data could be used in health planning.

He admitted that the data on climate change is not readily available in a format that is convenient, “and readily available for evidence-based decision making.”

According to him, there is need to strengthen the collaboration between key players in the health, agriculture and environmental sectors, “to identify, investigate and develop sustainable solutions to mitigate the impact of climate change and climate variability on health.”

“To do so we need to develop an effective surveillance and prevention and control program,” Dr. Johnson said.

I am not saying there is and will be no hurricanes, droughts, earthquakes etc, because the Lord said “they will intensify. My problem with these environmentalist is they want us to return to 1900. To me this is their religion. They say we must top traveling on cars and planes and resort back to donkeys and ships that depends on the winds 2 take us 2 our destinations.According 2 them if we don’t the world will come 2 an end. The thing is they don’t practise what they preach, 4 example, Al Gore is one of the chief alarmists in this cult, preaching the rising sea level will soon swallow up the coastlines,He even made a movie on the same subject .Yet he bought a multi-million dollar oceanfront mansion in California. Do you know Y? because he don’t believe what he is preaching. Here is an other double standard. Not too long ago they held their summit in Davos Switzerland and they traveled in their private jet,a total of 1700 jets, yet hear them talk about air pollution.

First of all nobody (not anybody we take seriously anyway) is calling for people to stop using cars or planes or anything that burns fossil fuels. They don’t say that the world will come to an end either – just that it will slowly get that much harder to live in.

What most people sensitive about climate change advocate for is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by reducing the use of fossil fuels wherever possible – most notably in the generation of electricity where we have so many options (solar, wind, geothermal, hydro etc) but these are not being explored nearly enough because big corporations and the wealthy elite are content with the current energy situation.

Not to mention the oil industry is big business, big enough to the point that controlling this industry can give those in power the ability to crush the economies of other nations (watch as Venezuela goes down when the next drop in oil prices happens).

Dr. Johnson, don’t get pulled into the hoax that has been created. The stakeholders are the billionare globalist bankers and their corporations.

Dear Dr – Is this a red herring? Few days ago the minister of health brought this up. Aren’t there more important health issues that you should be addressing? I can list at least ten. Stop with this nonsense and address fixing the healthcare problems including health infrastructure and also medical staffing issues so there can be better delivery of care in Dominica….STOP WITH THE RIDICULOUS PRESS YOU AND DARROUX.

I guess if you understood the impact that climate has on health you would not have frowned at Dr Johnsons remarks. You however must be familiar with health determinants since you have extensions which places you in an elite fraternity or are you

This is very interesting Dr Johnson. Just this week the Ministry of Health issued the dire warning that the country was under threat from vector-borne diseases. We need to know the relationship between these diseases and climate change.

Common man get serious, if you believe climate change is a fantasy, that tells me you not an very informed person. Organized religion, has nothing to do with this! I do not know how old you are, but if you go to Roseau in the late hours, of the evening, or in the early hours in the morning you may notice there is a change from what you experienced in the 1950’s

The time I was there I experience as much smog the same as if I was in a metropolitan city. There was a time when it rained in California, for more than a week nonstop each and every year. I can count how many times it rained in the past ten years.

The beautiful green lawns we enjoy here are becoming a thing of the past. Right now I am in the process of removing all of my lawns to replace them with desert plants and rock-stones. People who are caught watering lawns, can be find ten ($10,000.00) thousand dollars per day. If you do not believe me: Oh well!

However Climate is not a fantasy, do more reading, the world…

Do more reading, the world will be here, but in what condition? My friend there are places in the world larger than Dominica all covered with ice for hundreds of years, or since the beginning of time the ice glaciers around the world are dissolving (melting), as a result Sea level is rising, in a few years, places in Florida where people are on the beach today, is expected to be deep ocean.

I understand for a brief moment about twenty years it hailed in a certain area on the North of Dominica, pick any mountain in Dominica in the early ours of the day, what you see emanating on the top of the mountain that Dominicans term vapor is actually fog, it is getting more dense.

One time in 1963 I was driving south to Roseau, after I drove through concord going through the interior the fug was so thick, I could not see three feet ahead of me, a guy got out and walked in front allowing the headlights to focus on him, as I drove, that’s how we manage to pass through it. Dominica is in the…

        Dominica is in the tropics!

It is not supposed to snow in Los Angeles, however, sometime ago it snowed in the City of Compton a few miles from where I live. I mean the crap Johnson, and Darroux is talking is simply crap but do not let their ignorance detract you from what is really taking place in the world.

if you are into medicine, this data, is not going to help you in your practice, you may be a medical doctor I do not know, but I am certain you are not a scientist dealing with global warming.

We know what caused Global warming, and whatever the cause Dominica is not part of the problem okay! The industrial world: The United States, Europe, Canada, and China are the nations responsible for global warming. China is the worst offender, so much so that the Chines walk around with mask on their faces.

The same kind you put over your nose and mouth when you are examining a patient you believe may contaminate you. You people need to stop, stick to what you know. The diesel DOMLEC use to generate electricity is the most fusel fuel used on the island, in addition to the gasoline burnt in motor vehicles.

Stop trying to impress people, we are not all dumb!

Apart from pointing out that the industrialized countries are the worst offenders the rest of what you wrote is woefully inaccurate. Asian people use masks not because of pollution but because of fear of spreading or contracting air bourne diseases such as the flu. Also climate change affects everyone, whether we can do anything to stop or curb it is another story. But what we can start to do is put measures in place to handle the effects that will come. My assessment is that this is the goal of the medical officer’s address. Think for example how rising global temperatures can affect the habitats of disease bearing organisms which in turn would influence the spread of diseases. Mosquitoes come to mind.

Here is that commonly used words in Dominica, “Stakeholders; all of you are so full of crap wake up in the morning talking crap only for people to say doctor say, what purpose this data is going to serve you and Dominica?

Climate change, also called global warming, refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on Earth.

An overwhelming scientific consensus maintains that climate change is due primarily to the human use of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air.

The gases trap heat within the atmosphere, which can have a range of effects on ecosystems, including rising sea levels, severe weather events, and droughts that render landscapes more susceptible to wildfires. The only thing that you Johnson can do to help, is stop DOMLEC from generating electricity, and stop all the cars from been driven in the country. Other that you are not saying anything!

Look up geo-engineering, and weather warfare as a beginning to educating yourself. You can also go on Youtube and watch the film “What in the world are they spraying?” As well the film “Look UP” the movie, is now available as a DVD. through Skyderalert. Most of the climate change that you are witnessing and that they are trying to make you believe is YOUR fault is actually being created by the billionaire globalists with their hired planes and chemicals that are creating an inversion effect on earth and blocking out the sun. That is not to say that Da’cans don’t pollute the air as do the corps. Most of what is causing climate change on earth are natural occurrences via volcanos and geothermal eruptions. CO2 is necessary to create oxygen so that we can breathe. It is not a bad thing. If the sun is blocked out, everything will die. Except that the elite think that they can live like moles underground for lifetimes. They are only fooling themselves. Their resources will…
