Charles Savarin recovering from surgery in Martinique

Savarin

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has said National Security Minister Charles Savarin is recovering from surgery in a Martinique hospital.

Savarin left Dominica last week. He was first admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital after complaining of feeling unwell.

“I just want to inform the nation that he had surgery on Saturday. He is recovering in Martinique and we expect him to be there for some time and he is recuperating there. I want to – on behalf of his wife, himself and his family – thank all those who have sent wishes and those who continue to pray for his speedy recovery,” he said.

Skerrit said government will from time to time give an update on Savarin’s recovery.

Wish for others what you would wish for yourself. Charity, love, forgiveness, redemption all begin in your own heart. each individual being is responsible for the condition they find themselves in. Everything happens to teach you something. Care not for the sins of others — weed your own garden.

Let the Lord have His way Dominicans, He knows what He is doing, and He will do it very well, because He is in charge!!

In light of the present situation with Charles Savarin: (i) Mr Skerrit should see the need for a State of the Art hospital and health care before the State Palace.
(ii) Mr Savarin has been an agitator for most if not all of his life, in one way or another, and this is the time to stop and do some deep introspection. His behavior and that of Tony Astaphan on their talk show have not helped in bringing the country together, but have further divided it by keeping the whole country in election mode. There is lots of damage to be repaired, if this is at all possible.

    • Anonym
      June 27, 2011

Being “an agitator” has nothing to do with the man’s health. He’s a politician, and politicians talk a lot. It’s part of their job description. The man has only done his job for the betterment of this country, regardless of the position he holds at any given time. All those who say otherwise have no idea what they are talking about, nor of the sacrifices and difficulties he had along the way.
The “damage to be repaired” that you speak of was not done by one man, but by a collective body of people who spend most of their time whining about what they have or don’t have, what should or shouldn’t be done, rather than taking advantage of the opportunities that are presented to them.

mr savarin i do wish you well. but i must say that when you return to office you must let the others know even if i believe that they know already how health care is a vital neccesity to all. and not everyone will be fortunate like you to have your care taken care of in a foreign/more advanced land. thats the reason you and your govt and those past ones should look into the healthcare issue instead of putting millions of dollars in a state house. advance medical services is a priority in d/ca. you would proberly not have travelled to martnique and signing that big check to the french…oh just remember its mr skerrit nationality. anyway speedy recovery

I do wish Mr.Savarin a speedy recovery like i would to any one even my worse enemy. But as for considering Mr.Savarin a good man,i don’t think so,he has done too much ill to Waitukubuli and is still helping in doing ill.So there is no way that iam going to ask health for him because i want him to come back to continue the so called good works tha some are hypocritically asking for.His works is as evil as the works of the devil.

I do believe that you are a hypocrite you shouldnt be shocked at the types of feedback where Chareles Savarin is concern he opened the doors for those sort of comments I am not saying that any one should wish bad for one another but dont you believe calling DOMINICANS Talibans the best he could come up with as a minister of security you dont make comments like that he was wrong, but on the other hand Savarin been saying and doing things that are not in the best interest of Dominicans and have been getting away with it so instead of trying to chastise the p-eople encourage Savarin and his party to respect them.

Embarrassing that a member of government has to go to a foreign country to seek medical attention. Are all Dominicans able to obtain such care and treatment?

Who and what are you spying on? You quote from the Bible? You hypocrite!
You are not an intelligent person. You are another one who has nothing good, intelligent and educational to state and about people. Look to yourself. Do you know and soon enough what will happen to you and when you will die? When it is least expected people die in their sleep and in accidents; also from other sudden ailments. When you wish people harm and accuse them, think of yourself, you are only a human being, not God.
Holy Scripture: “You are only a puff of smoke.” In a twinkling of an eye you could be eradicated from the face of the earth.
Those who are intelligent and spiritually-minded will know this. We do not expect fools to know this.
Do not under-estimate God. He punishes those who wish others harm, sooner than they expect and in a worst way, exactly what they deserve.

      • REASONING

However, I give the glory to God, for He rebuked an untrained human attitude through you. Always keep that in mind when you speak. And you will find out that God will choose you as His physical voice time and time again. Just stay humble at all times.

Mr. Skerrit, this morning I was listening to a calling program on Q95 hosted by Matt and jerry Brisbane, and about 9:55 Mr Parry bellot called the program and made a very distubing statement. In case you did not her him, please let me give you the essence of it. Jerry asked him if he thinks former and deceased PM’s Rosie Douglas and Miss Charles would have used $27 million on a state house at time when the country needs money, and Parry’s response was quite disturbing to me as a labourite and a very strong supporter of Rosie Douglas. Here is how Parry answered: “Rosie was a very bad manager and could notmanage the country, his home, and not even his own health, so let us put Rosie out.” To me this was very offensive especially when you mr. PM came to light through Rosie and Mr. Bellot who is now your advisor and cosultant has a job all because of Rosie Douglas whom Dominican’s believed in and saw him as the solusion to dirty politics that was beginning to surface in Dominica at that time. When Parry made that statement, he was in effect calling ALL labourites and Rosites fools for electing a man with no management skills to lead the country and no doubt to me he was throwing a stone at you Mr. PM as a man that was hand picked by the late PM. Mr. Skerrit, as a Labourite and Prime Minister of the party that Rosie served with pride and dignity, in light of statements made by Tony Astaphan during the death of Mr. Douglas, I would as a supporter of the late PM ask that you do three things: 1. As PM condemn this statement 2. As an advisor of yours, as Mr. Parry to retract this careless and painful statement and 3. After Parry retracts this statement, dimisss him forthwith.

as a laborite you mad to even post that there, if you take parry seriously then you mad like him. indeed roosie was a very weak and un-organised leader but he had the well being of us all in his heart and not seeking(steal) to find riches and fame among the people who control the fate of the poor… for a few dollars more parry will KILL HIS MOTHER AND CASTRATE HIS FATHER JUST TO HAVE IT IN HIS POCKET.

    • REASONING
      June 23, 2011

Parry Bellot was never a supporter of the Labour Party and will never be.He did not like Roosie and Pierro as he has confessed before and never wanted to see the Labour Party in office. He is one who would support the enslavement of black people as he may have benefitted from slavery,he seem to be the son of slave plantation owners. The only reason Parry pretends to be a supporter of Labour is because Skerrit is a sell out and he tries to see what he can get. This is one reason i stop supporting this so called Labour Party, all the guys who are benefitting are those who spent their lives fighgting down all the true Labourites who helped the party to rise.People like Mc.Kenzie,Arthie,Wiltshire to name a few.

    • June 23, 2011
