Dominica has recorded 100 new Covid-19 cases and the total number of active cases is now 408.
National Epidemiologist, Dr Shallaudin Ahmed, made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday night.
“As of 4:00PM of August 24th our total number of new cases as of yesterday Monday , August 23rd 2021 is 100,” he said. “Total active cases as at August 24th 2021 at 4:00 PM would be 408 cases.”
He said of the 408, 11 were PCR positive cases and 397 were rapid antigen positive cases.
According to Dr. Ahmed the total recovered cases were 885 and there was one Covid-19 associated death.
A total of 42,527 people have been tested, Dr. Ahmed revealed.
“Of these 42,527, 23,536 are PCR tested and 18,991 were tested using the rapid antigen test kit,” Dr. Ahmed noted. “With this our positivity rate is 3.3 percent.”
“Most of the positive cases are from the Roseau Health District which represents over 77% of the cases, then we had cases from Grandbay, Portsmouth, just about 5% and 6% respectively,” he explained. “The lowest amount of cases was from the Castle Bruce Health District, only 1%.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmed is appealing to the general public to get vaccinated.
“I did not say vaccine is a bulletproof, but vaccine works,” he remarked. “Vaccine works by reducing the transmission, vaccine works for reducing the severe disease, Covid,” he urged. “So I do appeal to the people those who are still waiting and thinking to decide what to do with the vaccine it’s time to get vaxed.”

Not bulletproof?
This is a medical experiment and people should be told that they are bring asked to take part in a worldwide trial. This trial ends in 2023. Not till then will they know the effects it has on different people.
Many have died after taking the experimental vacinne. Many are suffering from injuries related to the vacinne.
No one knows what the ingredients will do. We are sitting ducks and Bill Gates has not taken it neither his children. WHY??
Give the people an informed choice. This does not eradicate the virus. It does not protect you and it does not stop you passing it on or getting it.
No one will truly know the effects of this until perhaps, it’s too late and more lives lost or injured with no compensation from the large pharmaceutical giants making billions from this without care of your life.
People, do your research, question everything dont be dumb sheep being led to the slaughter.

Start testing the dead. There are more cases. A Very good ssource told me that PCR testing is only done after the rapid test comes positive, so how can it be that there are only 11 positive PCR cases.
Half of the positive antigen tests can be people who gad covid 3 months back.
Possible but not likely. Presence of antigen is an indication of current active infection not past.

Dr Ahmed, please give us your sources for vaccines reducing transmission with the variants which are currently dominant in the world.

The problem with living according to what we insist on wanting rather than dealing with what is in front of us, is that reality ALWAYS wins. This is not the first pandemic in history.

According to WHO and CDC it is not known if vaccination reduces transmissionand there is no evidence that it does. Dr Ahmed is doi g a fantastic job but this statement is misleading, either accidentally or deliberately so. It should be corrected.
“A growing body of evidence indicates that people fully vaccinated are less likely than unvaccinated persons to acquire SARS-CoV-2 or to transmit it to others. However, the risk for SARS-CoV-2 breakthrough infection in fully vaccinated people cannot be completely eliminated as long as there is continued community transmission of the virus.”

Granted, the usually stellar CDC hasn’t been the sharpest knife in the draw during this pandemic.
So, if you are a medical doctor, try multiplying at lease four hundred times exponent 2: you might just find approximately 2,956 cases on the island.
I calculated that mentally; I could be wrong, but I do believe if I process it on paper and not mentally, there are more cases than that in the country.
I am not going to call you a quack today; because it is time for seriousness; rather than bestowing the title of quack on you today; I need to draw to your attention, and that of the corrupted crook Roosevelt Skerrit, that the virus seems to be getting out of control in Dominica.
Of the amount you disclosed you did not count any from the Delta Variant strain; which is the more easily contracted, and more deadly.
I think that it is not possible for every new case elsewhere are all identified as the Delta Variant; except in Dominica.
So, whether Roosevelt refuse to shut down the country in the hope that business will continue as usual is simply a myth!
As long as that warning in the following is out there, unless this virus stop running wild in the country Roosevelt can kiss Dominica’s dependency on tourism goodbye!
