Dominica Spinal Support Organisation elects new executive board

On Saturday April 16, 2011 the executive board as well as old and new members of the Dominica Spinal Support Organisation (DSSO) met at the Police Headquarters conference room for the 2nd annual general meeting to elect a new executive board, to incorporate new members and to discuss the  progress of the Non profit organisation since it was launched on September 13, 2010.

Voting by show of hands, Mr. Lynard Henderson was re-elected as the President while one of the new members Mrs. Desiree John was elected as the new Vice President. Miss Glenda Vital was elected the new secretary while Miss Rhelda Richards and Shenel Jolly maintained each their respective posts as Treasurer and Public Relations Officer with Shenel Jolly also doubling as the assistant secretary/treasurer.

The Dominica Spinal Support Group is intended to educate members and the general public of the difficulties and struggles as well as the different illnesses related to patients suffering from spinal maladies.

Over the last year the DSSO was successful at allowing foreign Neurologist Dr. Steve Madheo and his team from Trinidad in visiting Dominica with the support of the Government of Dominica. Through this effort a few Dominicans suffering from spinal related conditions were able to be seen medically by this team.

The Dominica Spinal Support Organisation is a non profit orgnisation and so welcomes donations and contributions from all.

To contact the DSSO you may reach Mr. Lynard Henderson at 245-2699 or Miss Shenel Jolly at 295-4441.
