Dominica’s health minister, Julius Timothy, is back home after he was airlifted to Martinique for treatment due to a mild stroke.
DNO understands Timothy returned to Dominica on Monday.
He was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 1 after he collapsed, reportedly from a stroke.
Timothy was taken to Martinique later that evening from the Canefield Airport for further treatment.
It is reported that the health minister is now at home recuperating.

He has to relax now, what happeded ia a warning sign,,,,do less stressful things now..
DNO why do you keep blocking my comments, that’s the second time, its really starting to pist me off. are u working for timothy?
You are not the only one.I have said it before, DNO will loose its present popularity if that nonsence continues. It claims to be covered by a disclaimer, yet it gabages many comments, especially if they concern the Skerrit labor Government. The Admin. of DNO cannot be listening to between you and me, Angelo Alleyn Sunday show, Matt in the morning on Q95 and the Saturday night Animal Show.
Tim Tim was a financial wizard now a health hazard, too much upside down in Dominica put timothy back in finance.
I do wish you recover and I am sorry that you had to experience this.
However please help me to understand how it is that you were not treated in Dominica. Are you admitting that the health care system in Dominica were not able to treat you.
This needs to change and atitudes towards your health care system needs to be improved.
You were lucky and able to fly to where you could recieve treatment what about the rest of us.
Mr Minister, should God bless you with good recovery and good health, and you are blessed to return to work sir, please take a good look into and overhaul the medical system in Dominica.
May God bless you and return you to normal health.
ot
Some people acts like the guys OF UWP will never get sick.
But TIM is an original! lol and he got sick hahahahhahaha lok jokes peeps.
Youwould say DFPites doh get sick if Medard was the one who got the stroke? lol get my drift? Medard was a young DFPite before his dad brought him int the DLP.Remember when Mrs Mike Douglas tried to mediate betwen Ian and medard? she say they are like bth her son’s?
Hon. Timothy, welcome back home. A happy, speedy recovery. Take your time to recover. Do not be too anxious and stress yourself out over considering that you have to return to work. Let everything take its course. Just take one day at a time during your recuperation process.
God’s blessing and healing!
People let us simply give thanks to God. Remember that the stroke which our Health Minister suffered was a mild one; at his age a severe stroke could have knocked him out completely.
Let us thank God that He was not ready for Mr. Timothy–this could mean that He still has work to do through on behalf Dominica theough our Health Minister.
Let us look forward for the best in our Dominica and for ourselves, than all of that negative complaining. This attitude in us is doing no good for no one–why can’t we acknowledge that and to stop it!
Liz aren’t you and TIM school mates he went to SMA you CHS lol! and you talking about “at his ag?? LMAO this is not fet.
DO you and fet like each other or not?
@no jean beff May 8, 2013
Sorry to disappoint you, but I did not attend SMA–and is that school not for the male species of young Dominicans–I don’t even know!
They put me to teach in Dominica, long before I could even finish my teenage years–perhaps I was too smart to hang around with my teenage friends.
And so from the year I set foot in Toronto I have been on the increase in learning, teaching, and evangelizing all at the same time.
So what is your problem about talking about our Health Minister’s age? Why not speak your mind! Just so you know that I feel like 16, even if I have the “wisdom” of good old “King Solomon”! Lol
I am indeed delighted to know you are doing better my friend Timo. As a friend and concerned citizen, I am not too sure I am happy you are back in Dominica knowing that you have not fully recovered, and Dominica’s leading hospital has nothing to assist you during your rehab and recovery. Anyways, as the old saying goes, home sweet home, and I am sure your family is happy to know you are home.
I know you are a work wizard but at this time please take it easy and put Timothy and family first. Also, please use this to reconsider your decision to be in a Skerrit led administration, where you serve as minister of health. As we all know, health is the key component in the development of any nation, and in our case in DA, it is probably at its worse since we became a nation. That by itself is too stressful for you as you are a people’s person by nature, and no way will Skerrit will put you in a position to outshine him. So please resign and should you choose to re-contest next election, plz do so as an independent candidate. I will call you later when you start to feel better. Your friend in the US.
It is sad that you fell sick, I wish u well, But I hope you use this experience to improve the conditions and facilities at all Hospitals in Dominica.
You are in politics so sadly politics have to be brought in it too.
I wish you well for a complete recovery Tim.
Please Mr Timothy, take it easy, do not do too much too soon. Relax.
Welcome home, now next step resign from the position of Minister of Health for you did not trust your very own hospital that you are responsible for. Thank you..
I don’t think it was because of a matter of trust. PMH just doesn’t have the facilities for some major emergencies.
ME !! So if the hospital does not have it, what happens to the average person when they get sick? WAKE UP BRO !
He knows better than that. Strokes are very easily treated and prevented, however, not with the conventional medicine route.
good point
thank God that you are back,i wish that you were the prime minister.we would have had an int’l airport.
Yes, but too little too late.
Please do not make me laugh. Give him a break!
Thank you for the updates, DNO. Get well soon, Hon. Timothy!
That man dont trust his own hospital
Rav you are such a defender of this criminal regime yet you have no idea what going on with Tim. WTF do you care you sit out there collecting with HH and Cost U More.
Good to know you are back home. Thank God, speedy recovery my friend. Blessings!
Our prayers were answered.
Welcome back Mr Tiomthy, wishing you a full recovery.
praise god he is back.
Happy to hear that you are much better Mr. Timothy…Get well soon Sir!
good for him… i hope he recovers fully.
Eddo wishing you a speedy recovery old friend no bad blood life is too short.
Trust me maybe you talking about another EDDO because our own have bad blood and plenty thin skin.
Mister Gordon and Sen Baptiste and the entire labour Marigot Branch says best wishes. You Timo is in our prayers. You help so many of we ah pigmy already. Pupa God bless you.
you is ah monkey but just not from back ah yardm ah we monkey hill
Welcome home Julie. Take your rest and be good. God is great all the time. Never mind the nay sayers. They will never get sick because they support a particualr political party. Only those who support and work with PM Skerrit will get sick in today’s Dominica. We go see.
It would be so sensible if you wished for a proper hospital, instead of the garbage that you are infecting the comments with.
@View Point Brainless people like you are Dominica’s worse enemy. No wonder we are lagging behind almost all other Caribbean countries as a poor and backward nation. One good day you will stop wallowing in ignorance.
Having said this it is heartening to see Tim Tim back home. Wish you a speedy recovery brother. Keep on praying.
You wishing bad on our people. What goes around comes around. Dats a sad stupid and grossly immoral statement to make. VIEWPOINT dats how far you taking your HATE for the PM SKERRO.
Absolutely not. You miss read my point. You see everything that goes wrong in Dominica is blamed on Mr. Skerrit including the ill health of people around him. When Charlo ws sick, they celebrated. When Pierro and Rosie died they celebrated. When Chavez was sik and then died they celebrated. If you follow UWP rhetoric you will see the rejoice even at people’s sickness. That is where I was going, not wishing bad for Mr. Skerrit of his government and supporters. I am a “poto” supporter of PM Sklerrit. Whilst they celebrated Charlo’s illness and loss of voice, they fail to see that one of theirs (Senator)is losing his voice. Charlo has his voice back anyway , thanks God. Julie will get well too. We go see if sickness is a partisan thing. That is my point
Tax payers won’t have to pay thousand of €Euros for medical attention in another Caribbean island. This needs to be addressed seriously!!!!!
Good to know that he is back home. When he recuperates fully, I hope he will give some serious consideration to improving the health services in Dominica, so that tax payers won’t have to pay thousands of Euro$, when this funds could be use efficiently to improve the health care standards and provide the necessary medical and surgical technology in Dominica. Do some serious introspection and reflection
Get well soon Mr Health Minister.
A Concerned Dominican
you could not have said it better! kudos
He should use the money he spoke about to print ID cards and invest it in a state of the art Hospital. If the state malice $27million plus the aforementioned our health care would improve.
I pray for full recovery for Mr. Timothy and may God see him through this trying times. He remains in my prayers.
Praise God. I cant wait to see u back at work. We have some business to discuss as soon as u get back to work fella!!
you sound like a real uneducated idiot. The man is not even well u talking about discussing business. What kind of animal are u?
Just like charles savarin, he will get back to work one day. Charles returned to work before he was recuperated and you saw nothing wrong with that. 0+sweet=0. 0+idiot=0. Hence @ sweet is a known idiot.
Look for friend lol? you boasta caka sec.
You advertising ur feiendship with another passawed normally/naturally?
welcome home bro. blessings and protection
very good new speedy recovery sir
That word Sir ,take it and put it in the gabbage, ridiculous. He abandoned his own hospital and left patients there to fend for them selves at a not up to date hospital. Plizzzzzzz.
Did e bring back a CT scan and MRI machine? Don’t crucify me he s minister of wealth isn’t he.
Call me bad, insensitive whatever but isn’t it because of politicians heartlessness that they lie to you so easily.
If the man is well then good for him and his family now what about Mr nobody who had a stroke in pichlen or Dubique or Roseau North.? This is not an unfair question.
Your question is not unfair, Teflon, It is simply out of place and in very poor taste under a media story that actually speaks positively of the health of another human.
Truth is @Teflon has given some positive health ideas and the media story speaks positively of a man’s health. So when you add the two positives, u still end up with a positive.
Nothing is out of place nor in poor taste re: politicians more so the no good good for nothing ones.one
Oh yeh Peeping Tom I should ask the question at your convenience or when election campaign is on where all the empty promises are made.
O you see our representatives making themselves available to answer the questions that are important to people. Instead they hide behind the blinds of Kairi and DBS or GIS.
do you want us to ask the question after Mr nobody from pichlen or Dubique expire only because of the lack of basic equipment at our main hospital?
Peeping Tom should we ask Timothy when he return from Miami or should we ask him on his way to the airport cause the people need an answer.
Get well soon Mr. Timothy. May the good Lord continue to bless you.
