Message from Minister for Health, Julius Timothy

Minister for Health Julius Timothy.

As you are aware, last week Wednesday, I was faced with a health situation which required me to be hospitalized both here in Dominica and Martinique.

I must report that I am recovering well from my ordeal, and expect by God’s grace to make a full recovery.

Currently I have some challenges with speech but my doctors believe that I will be able to overcome these challenges in good time.

I know that many of you have been concerned and expressed those concerns through offerings of prayer and good wishes, and so to you all my fellow Dominicans and particularly the Roseau North Constituents I say thank you.

I wish to say thank you to Dr. Daniel for his timely intervention and Dr. Burton for being present and assisting in getting me to the hospital. Also, to Dr. Marie for the intervention at the hospital.

My thanks to the Honourable Prime Minister and my Cabinet colleagues for being there for me from day one.

Thanks to the Permanent Secretary, Chief Medical Officer and staff of the Ministry of Health and Princess Margaret Hospital. The care and support I continue to receive means much to me.

To my family, many relatives, friends, staff at ACS who have enquired about my health and prayed for me, let me say your prayers have been answered and I thank the Lord for you.

May the good God continue to bless us all.

You may have left out some names in your thank you message, but that’s what I like about you: You may have your faults naturally, but you are not like the other ministers of government. You are down to earth, and know your mac bobo. I will continue to pray for your quick and wholesome recovery. God Bless.

He should be flown to the state house, its was just built with all the good stuff. Why not its a priority over health care.

what happens to him can happen to u. stop being a fool and making foolish coments and remember that u don’t know what tomorrow holds for u .u sound like someone that’s rejoicing over the illness of another

        May 9, 2013

@toma has already wished him well. And by no means he or she is rejoices. It is more of a figurative message.

“I must report that I am recovering well from my ordeal, and expect by God’s grace to make a full recovery”.—News Article

I love this statement and all that Mr. Timothy spoke. Yes indeed! It is by God’s grace “the bag of Love–Life which He pours out to us, who believe in Him by faith.

I pray that every doctor, nurse, counselor, and whoever else that will help our Health Minister to recover completely, are remembering that God is working through them for the sake of the Life of Man who believes in His Grace–that man is Mr. Julius Timothy.

By the Stripes of Jesus Christ, he will be healed. And so, to God be the glory! Blessings!

Thanks for your kindness and gratitude. All of us wish you a complete recovery as you have served this country very well, whether in blue or red and we all love you Tim.
One thing though, put your health first and learn from the mistakes of others who went before you. They put the job before their health and as a result, they left us rather sadly and untimely, and yet the job is still there undone. Let me remind you of a passage in Phil. 2:25-27, where Paul informed us of one by the name of Epaphroditus, who almost killed himself because of his love for people and the job. So please take it easy Tim.

Tim, am happy u recovering but I want you to have a full revcovery so you can make some real change for better health care for all. If this is not a wake up call then the next time God will act differently. Savarin, lost of speech, Tim , lost of speech…can you see the sign? The creator is being merciful and giving you all a chance to come clean and do better because he know you all can do better. Should you all fail to listen and change for the better there will be no 2nd chance and the others will follow. Save DA and DA will save you!!

I am very happy for your recovery, I hope you guys ready to address the condition Princess Margaret Hospital for those unable airlift for better treatment to neighboring island.

The minister did not mention any thanks to any member of the oposition and this is strange to me.Did any one from the oposition extend any well wishes to the minister during his ordeal?
I really hope that someone did, because in sickness there is no time for that nonsense.
I would hope that this is not the case and at the same time if they did i would expect the minister to extend thanks to them if they did, just as he did to all those other people. It would be an honorable thing to do.
I just have have the feeling that this is a wakeup call for many reasons, and that it offers an uppotunity for unity and peace among our leaders.
So i say for the sake of the nation, use this time to make change.

Members of the UWP including Mr. Lugay of the Goodwill constituency did extend good wishes and prayers to Mr. Timothy on the Thursday night UWP political show.

Obviously, you have not been reading this blog or listening to the other rado station. To put it mildly, there was massive “jubilation” at yet another associate of Mr. Skerrit is sick. If they wished him well then they did it privately. Then he might have acknowledged them privately. The leadership of the opposition did not go on public record wishing the minister well and chastising their supporters for the great jubilation. But I agree with you that now is the time to begin the much needed change.

I am happy to know that you are back on island, but the improvement process takes time. TAKE IT EASY SIR.!
Mr Timothy as a man who thinks differently from most members of this government don’t you think that the $30 000 000.00 (loan money)wasted on the State Evil could be better utilized if only we had a visionary government who could channel it to provide better health facilities at the PMH sir?
It is shameful to see so few labourites wishing you well sir. Shame on them indeed.

Regardless to what happens to politicians, playing politics never takes second place. Mr. Timothy has thank everyone but members of the UWP.On the UWP political show last thursday, every member on show that night offered prayers and well wishes to him. Infact,Mr. Sanford reminded the listeners that Mr. Timothy was the one who brought him into politics and he is praying for his recovery. Mr. Lugay, hopefully, his future replacement also offered prayer for his full recovery. Maybe, Mr. Timothy was not aware that members of the UWP were also praying for him, however, I would like him to know, we are still praying for him.God bless you, Sir.

      May 9, 2013

There should not be any politics in the comments – but that is wishfult hinking.

having said that – he’s comments seem to be focused on personal thanks to those who reach out personally to him and he also says to “all my fellow Dominicans” that includes everyone.

But then again – with these poloticians who knows if they personally did or not… but it shouldnt matter. What matters is that is said thanks to all his well wishers

Hope you recover fully, my prayers are with you.

Hope this unfortuneate experience propell our political leaders to work on building a state of the art hospital , like the white house that is being bilt in roseau, it is a shame when our health minister cannot get the proper medical care in dominica in this day and age, that means the normall joe will die with the same condition cus he wont be able to fly to the french island for help?.

For the constant reminder all along, even in my sick period how crude and mischievous they (UWP)are in celebrating at every turn, the misfortunes and illess of fellow Dominicans especially those who are known supporters of the ruling party. Like they or none of their supporters will never get ill. They will continue to get “spiritual drones” without let and then to be rejected again. We go see.

      • May 9, 2013

I do believe that you a the only person who is using the health of Julius as an excuse to vent your garbage I would suggest from time to time listen to other Radio outlets before posting comments Julius is a person he is ill and no one is celebrating and I think you have your facts clouded because the only party that celebrates over issues is your Party thats their trade mark my brother if you can pray ask God to send healing to the medical minister and stop your ignorance because politic is not needed in times like these.
