Ministry of Health expresses concern over CNCD

Timothy

The Ministry of Health says banning the importation of certain food ingredients could be an option in its efforts to prevent the increase of chronic, non communicable diseases (CNCD) in the country.

Health Minister Julius Timothy told a press conference Monday that his ministry is worried about the high levels of CNCDs on the island.

He says education is one way to help deal with the situation.

He says the Ministry of Health is also working with the Ministry of Education to help control child obesity.

“We are looking at more education and legislative measures. It is a holistic effort because the CNCDs are so difficult to deal with. I cannot imagine amputations. I can’t imagine living without a leg so we need to find ways to deal with it,” he said.

Research should be made into when this became more prominent. It will possible show this increased when the Chinese arrived.

Most of what the Chinese sell to other countries are ‘inferior’ and sometimes dangerous goods. If they can dump it on their own people, do you think they will have any reservations doing it to others?

The Government should be alert and act upon this. If necessary setting up an organisation to deal solely with imported goods. The welfare of the nation is at stake

So are you talking about the poison contaminated food that is coming in from Guyana or the additives that are toxic as well as the hormone laden meat that is coming in from foods imported from the U.S. and other countries?
Or is it the toxic stuff, including the moth balls with benzene coming in from China?
You are going to have one heck of a big job to undertake.
This amputation business needs to be minimized.
    Get that hospital updated.

My advise TIM TIM- put a check on all the duty free Chinese products . Those containing Asbestos, Lead Paint, MSG and all those dangerous toxins that the Chinese government allow in their QA/QC procedues.
Before you do so Tim Tim make sure the west Coast road rehabilitation finish as we doh care about the state Mallice. Following the completion of the west coast road it is time to dishonor the MOU.
