So, far, over the past two days, 2,083 persons have received medical care provided the Chinese Navy Hospital Ship, Ark Peace.
This statement was according to Health Minister, Dr. Kenneth Darroux who was updating the public and media on the mission at a press conference on Monday.
The ship which is currently docked at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth arrived in Dominica on Friday 12th October.
The ship is on a mission to provide medical services to Dominican citizens.
“So far 2,083 persons have been seen over the past two days and these have of course surpassed the usual quota,” he stated. “They did point to us that they could see at least 600 people a day, so we are talking about an average of over 1,000 people a day.”
He said 1,886 were seen on the ship and 191 were seen at an outreach clinic in Grand Bay.
He said services onboard the ship will continue until Wednesday [October 17] and the ship will leave on Thursday [October 18].
On Tuesday 16th October, the ship will be docked at the Woodbridge Bay Port at Fond Cole.
Dr. Darroux commended the People’s Republic of China for it tremendous support over the years.
The visit of the Chinese medical ship is nothing to boast about. Over two thousand (2 000) sought medical attention in such a very short period of time is very revealing. Too many sick Dominicans can ill-afford to access medical services and the healthcare system is a colossal failure. Does anything work well in Dominica? The Healthcare System (FAILED), Economy (FAILED), Infrastructure (FAILED), Agriculture (FAILED), Good Governance (FAILED), Corruption (Pass A+++).
That a one should concentrate Dominicans mind to to what has this government been doing.
The minister should be ashamed, over over 2000 in just 2 days?. The stupid thing is they will get a bandage on that bobo then thank him, my people are truly distroyed.
So how many minutes is each patient getting with a doctor?
Health Minister, Dr. Kenneth Darroux you are san hornte/shameless creature and ads a Cuban trained doc.
They are independent people the Cubans .You lived and studied there you should know better.
In 2018 Da should be doing much better and not have to depend on foreign medicine for basic ailments eye surgeries etc D.M & HTN care. I can assure D/cans these are what was presented to both the American & Chinese ships. With a large # of people having to visit the ship for basic health care tells volumes.
It look like every other person in DA is sick. Darroux we there bad man. You should be doing one day a week working at the hospital or any village/District of ur choice that would help U reverse ur staleness.
Guys like seem not to think. You are now a businessman.
It’s not too late to change ur way. Practice ur medicine once a week at least. Don’t be a dumb … when Skerrit and U all’s Neo DLP days are over you can return to the science of medicine(which is soon)

What does this really say about the health care situation in Dominica?
It does not exsist.
You right it’s in poor shape. And this I guess is not special equipment but just simple procedures. Tell us Dr, Darroux if the Chinese tell you.
Although I agree with you, I can guarantee that half of those people only went there because it’s free.
