After just about two years of planning coupled with fundraising events and renovations, the Rotary Club of Portsmouth has officially handed over a refurbished state of the art emergency room at the Reginald Fitzgerald Armour Hospital at Portsmouth at a cost of $170, 000.

The emergency room was outfitted with appropriate beds, updated medical equipment, bathrooms and toilets which meet international standards.

In a ceremony at the hospital on November 25th, in the presence of Parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Education, Hon. Ivor Stevenson, members of the medical staff of the RFA hospital, Rotarians from the Rotary club of Dominica and the Rotary club of Portsmouth, the ribbon was cut by Rotary District Governor Milton Inniss of Barbados, officially handing over the renovated ER to the staff at the hospital.

The Rotary club of Portsmouth extends heartfelt thanks to all those who partnered with them in this venture.

Special thanks to the Ross University school of Medicine and other members of the business fraternity in Dominica.
