WHO monitoring new coronavirus variant named ‘Mu’

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said it is monitoring a new coronavirus variant known as “Mu”, which was first identified in Colombia in January 2021.

The WHO said the variant has mutations that indicate a risk of resistance to vaccines and stressed that further studies were needed to better understand it.

“The Mu variant has a constellation of mutations that indicate potential properties of immune escape,” the bulletin said.

It’s remarkable that some person’s who are most vocal against the advice to get vaccinated show a lack of understanding of basic science and survival mechanisms of species. Viruses aren’t different from other forms of life. To ensure their survival organisms have to change to overcome things threatening them. For the first strain of the Alpha Covid-19 to survive it mutated to the Delta strain then there are other strains some of which will be successful and pose a problem to us by resisting the vaccines we throw at them. There is the Labnah strain now the Mu. There will be others in the future. Same thing happens with the flu virus that’s why every year there has to be different versions of the flu vaccine to cope. Some people are suggesting that society will have to learn to live with the Covid-19 virus just like we have to live with the flu virus. Some people take vaccines for the flu virus whilst others don’t. Both the flu and COVID-19 viruses are contagious.

“To say Viruses aren’t different from other forms of life” is that true, A virus is a non-living organism, it is different from other forms of life with the characteristics and nature given to it (see def. Virus). You say, quote, “To ensure their survival, organisms have to change to overcome things threatening them. Yes , change what to overcome, is it the environment, is it behavioral, physical or genetic form. Now, changes does not always bring a mutation. Viruses do not have the means to replicate their genetic material themselves, or make a copy of their DNA they need a host to make new viruses, that is done by inserting virus genetic material into a host cell. Now, for the genetic material to thrive in the host cell, it needs an environment conducive for it to exist, so it can replicate itself, now if the environment of the host is not conducive for the genetic material how can the virus replicate itself. To be continued.

Gary, you speak based on your own limited understanding. Do you know that there are different kinds of viruses? Man made and natural? The characteristics of a man made virus are much different from a natural one. For example, the common cold is a virus that has never been cured. Now with a man made virus, one which we have yet to really understand, how does it hold up to man made vaccines? This is what we are trying to figure out as we speak. As we have heard that the virus has mutated within the vaccinated.

“To ensure their survival, organisms have to change to overcome things threatening them. Yes , change what to overcome, is it the environment, is it behavioral, physical or genetic form. Now, changes does not always bring a mutation.” i suggest you read some Charles Darwin. Evolution is the change they speak of. You want us to specify what needs to change. Maybe everything needs to change with some degree of moderation. Maybe only one thing. But the fact remains, you must…

Unfortunately so. Apparently, Science is not longer important, just opinions. People are willing to suffer and die in deference of their personally held opinions and beliefs.

Why do you make such nonsensical statements, “It’s remarkable that some persons who are most vocal against the advice to get vaccinated show a lack of understanding of basic science and survival mechanisms of species.” are you telling me that renowned
Scientist, Doctors, and Virologist or other Medical professionals who are vocal against vaccination lack understanding of basic science and survival mechanisms of species. http://www.opensourcetruth.com/dr-andrew-kaufman-the-delta-variant-hoax-exposed/#.YQSiJo-Osv8.twitter

Now watch as the scientifically illiterate try to explain how a vaccine could prevent a vaccine resistant variant from developing. People who just a few years ago would rip you up and down for talking about evolution and science now all of a sudden they know enough science to tell you about variants forming and why you need to take vaccines etc. Maybe if more people understood how natural selection works more people would start to think about what selective pressures could cause an organism to develop resistance to something. Like how bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics. hmmm

One of the ways,’ nature make fools of us, is by presenting challenges. The Human being is divine, with an unseen power at the helm, it’s not a motor Vehicle or a Cell Phone, some people think they can manipulate it to do their bidding with their so-called science, good luck. thegatewaypundit.com/2021/08/pfizer-ceo-says-covid-19-vaccine-resistant-variant-likely-emerge-pharma-co-system-place-release-new-variant-specific-jab-3-months-video/ Wow.

@Fact Check, can you explain how it is that every year there is a different flu vaccine! It’s because of variants of the flu virus. Plain and simple.

This is very worrying. I hope a more in-depth study of this new variant will bring us less alarming information.

DNO, many residents who have contracted the coronavirus and are taken to a government mandated facility are crying foul about the shabby, unprofessional and unacceptable treatment at these facilities. Can you go on a fact finding mission to ascertain the objective truth?

The beds are inadequate; the nurses are uncouth and belligerent; the food insufficient ; medication is unavailable; privacy very compromised. These are just a few of the many complaints. Can you verify these claims?

The media have significant social influence. But most of the journalists and reporters in Dominica, with the exception of Q95, are doing the country a huge disservice. They remain silent about the atrocities committed by the ruling regime against the people. Some are even complicit. Where do you stand, DMO?

Don’t want you to be based but just toreport the bare facts.

LMAOOO. So we now have 2 viruses to contend with. Where did it come from? How was it created? So Delta is not the one of interest anymore. Not even the basic Covid. MU is the new one to look out for.

So long and short, some of all you that so pro vax, all you just start to take vaccination. By the time they finish with all you you will never know what caused what in your body.

By the time they finish with them, tout moun will have to be renamed Delta Mu.

COVID-19 is unruly. No matter what vaccines are administered the virus just mutate to a much more stubborn variant.

Let’s all hope that a solution is found very soon to arrest the constant mutation of this mysterious and stubborn virus.

        • Readwell
          September 2, 2021

Indeed. The best solution is for a country to have more vaccinated than unvaccinated people. The virus keeps mutating because it finds a host. The majority of the time it will find a home in an unvaccinated person. Only because there are more of those persons available. The more the virus circulates the more it can change and mutate. So what we are seeing here is the ability of the virus to find many hosts due to low vaccination rates of the world. Many of the places where those mutations have emerged have large populations and low vaccination rates. A virus’ dream. A solution definitely needs to be found.

The constant mutations are caused by uncontrolled transmission in a selfish world. The ‘haves’ insist on life as close to normal as possible, at the expense of the ‘have-nots’ who must work or go without. The ‘haves’ also insist that vaccines alone can fix this, while being willfully blind to the fact that vaccines need weeks to work. The ‘have-nots’ share the blame because they have largely allowed themselves to be manipulated en masse against vaccination, oblivious (or willfully uninformed) of the foreign politics, hubris and financial incentives that drive much of the online misinformation the unwittingly consume. You do not have to be rich to understand the difference between PHD and MD qualifications, or to realize that these online quacks are profiting financially – exactly like the Big Pharma companies they rail against. So shame on all of us whose actions or inaction helped get us here.

The problem is people are not vaccinating. If we never have enough vaccinated how will we ever get ahead of the mutations? Only when death reaches ones door they will stop to think.
