HIPPOCUP nautical rally held in Dominica

Dominica welcomed 26 yachts carrying 250 doctors and surgeons from France for the 25th annual HippoCup 2019.

HippoCup nautical rally is the biggest sporting event in the world of health. It is an opportunity for the doctors and surgeons to meet new people and share experiences in a paradisiacal environment. There is a regatta during the day and a dinner & a party at night.

The rally, which was held in Dominica for one night, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, hosted a dinner party and awards ceremony at Fort Shirley, Cabrits National Park.

This event was facilitated with support from DDA, PAYS, Forestry Division and DASPA.

According to Herve Nizard, FWI Representative for DDA, “the event was a great success! the group was amazed by the natural beauty of Fort Shirley & Prince Rupert Bay. We anticipate their return to Dominica in the future”.

Discover Dominica Authority welcomes these opportunities as these events continue to drive development and promotion of Dominica’s yachting sector.

HippoCup motto: “To the saying “we must not abuse good things” we say NO. Come laugh, drink, eat and sunbathe in excess.”

While i am sure the HIPPOCUP Nautical Rally was a success, it is a shame that after 18 plus years of DLP governance, Prince Rupert Bay at Portsmouth, tagged Dominica’s Yachting Capital, still does not have a yacht marina.

I therefore challenge the government of the day and the opposition parties to tell us the citizens of Portsmouth their plans for the development of a yacht marina at Portsmouth if elected to government at the next general elections.

In addition to the marina serious considerations must also be given for the development of a slipway and boat repair facility preferably at Pointe Ronde, the zoning of the bay to ensure harmonious use by all users/ stakeholders, yacht mooring zone, recreation area for use of non motorized water craft, swimming and snorkeling zone etc.

These are great ideas, but they are also opportunities for investments. Maybe you can lead the way as a private investor or come up with a plan to make a partnership with the government. Remember Fort Young Hotel or the National Bank. Come on be a pioneer.

This is encouraging for Portsmouth and Dominica by extension. We need to make every effort to make more of these visitors welcome to DA.
Thanks to the Team who made this possible.

“Dominica welcomed 26 yachts carrying 250 doctors and surgeons from France for the 25th annual HippoCup 2019.”

A surgeon is actually a medical doctor; one must be a medical doctor before they can become a surgeon; surgeons are those specialists who specialize in performing surgeries; not all doctors operate on patients. And even at that; an orthopedic surgeon who operates on the spinal column may not be skilled enough to operate on a patients shoulder, or other parts of the body!

So, this brings me to a point, and that is to question the sanity of Roosevelt, and McIntyre for telling Dominicans that their HIFU machine eliminates totally the need for doctors to operate and perform surgery, by making incisions on humans in  Dominica.

If that be the case there is no need for surgeons in the medical profession in Dominica.

Roosevelt may just have to buy a hospital full of robots, and HIFU machines to operate his China renovated hospital!

Something is definitely wrong with you, Francisco. You are a very, very sick man. You need help.

Nothing is wrong with him. He has his views and have the courage to ensure that he is well identified with his full name signed up.
Unlike all those uwp gang bangers with the attributes of mobsters who post under fake names. These ghost writers are just cowards up to no good.
I may have a different world view than him. I share Skerrit vision he does not.
I just wish he was more objective in sharing his knowledge and experience. But nothing is wrong with him.
I am sure he would never crash a Heads of government conference or go M.I.A. in the face of national disasters.
