Hossein Shamkhani responds to Bloomberg article allegations involving Dominican CBI passport

Hossein Shamkhani

Iranian-born businessman Hossein Shamkhani has expanded his legal team and instructed specialist defamation lawyers following new articles containing what he calls “false claims”,  published in Bloomberg in 2024. A resident of the UAE, his dealings are of interest to Dominica because of his reported CBI status, and possession of a Dominican passport. The publication asserts that this passport was used to bypass international sanctions on his country of birth.

However, in a direct email correspondence to DNO, Shamkani’s team made it clear that “he has never acted in breach of international sanctions, nor moved illegal cargoes or have supported the conflict against Ukraine.”

Following allegations made in an earlier article in August 2024, lawyers for Shamkhani filed a complaint in the UAE in November 2024. Despite this, the statement asserts, further inaccurate and unsubstantiated claims were made in Bloomberg articles about Shamkhani and his business operation in the following month, specifically claiming that the published pieces “continue to include false accusations, inaccurate and defamatory content and which cite anonymous sources and unverified allegations.”

Additionally, it was confirmed that in regards to Bloomberg L.P., newly appointed specialist defamation lawyers are exploring the options of issuing proceedings elsewhere.

Commenting on the instruction of specialist defamation lawyers, Mr Shamkhani said: “There has been an unrelenting campaign against me since August 2024. My legal team sought to engage with Bloomberg, but it provided no corroboration or evidence to support its claims.”

He continued, “In December 2024, the global newswire ramped up its campaign of false, unverified, and above all defamatory assertions that I have acted in breach of international sanctions, moved illegal cargoes, and have supported war efforts. None of this is true and it puts both myself and my family at risk. I had no option but to instruct specialist lawyers to address these false allegations on my behalf.”

The details of the Bloomberg article allegations were published by DNO immediately following its release.

Shaka Zulu you are nothing more than a complete Jacka like all the rest of the blues.Even if he have a Dominican passport, using it to get other passports to evade sanctions is a lie.His lawyers ask Bloomberg to provide evidence to prove what they are saying is true and Bloomberg could not.”My legal team sought to engage with Bloomberg, but it provided no corroboration or EVIDENCE to support it’claims”.It was the same foolishness with UWP and Skerrit having a French passport.Skerrit said he did not have a French passport,UWP could not provide evidence to show Skerrit had a French passport. They used Justice Brian J K Alleyne in their lies, after Skerrit won the case the dumped Mr.Alleyne.The law says the burden of proof is on the one making the allegation.DNO wasted no time in publishing the article,it is all about they say.I am convinced DNO never said or posted the contents are not those of DNO,and will not be responsible.DNO did not post there was lobbying groupe in Washington DC

My friend if you did support the conflict against Ukraine, you did the RIGHT thing. America is causing problems all around the world, spilling the blood of millions of innocent people. The world needs to stand up and defy this American criminality. The latest was Joe Biden’s and Benjamin Netanyahu’s murdering of thousands in Gaza, cutting off their water supplies, food supply, electricity, killing 8 year olds with bullets to their heads, raping women, sodomising men, bombing hospitals and killing journalists. If you did what you are accused of, you are 100% right. America feeds Ukraine ,Taiwan and Israel with deadly arms, has this newspaper condemned America?
Now Israel is in Syria taking and carving out more land. Western media is quiet on this. I stand with you sir!!

This is a non-issue. The issue is whether he facilitated sanctions-busting, which, in the eyes of the “Great Ole USA” and its satellites, would be sacrilege. Stay focused, dimwit!

Oh really??? the fact, true or not that he used DA citizenship to do what was claimed is a non issue? Are you guys that delusional? I bet he is not the only one busting sanctions. I do not care because that is BTW him the US and thier geopolitical tussle. This crap been going on for decades and will not stop. It is only in DA media because our citizenship may be involved and we want to make that a non issue. laughable!
