Billy Graham: Influential US evangelist dies at 99

Billy Graham was known around the world

US evangelist Billy Graham – one of the most influential preachers of the 20th Century – has died aged 99.

Graham became one of the best-known promoters of Christianity, beginning his worldwide mission in large arenas in London in 1954.

He died at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, a spokesman for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association said.

In a 60-year career, he is estimated to have preached to hundreds of millions of people.

Graham reached millions of them through TV – the first to use the medium to convey the Christian message on that scale.

We all must die one day or the other but when I see so many people in RIP support to this man it amazes me also. This man gave his full support to a “couchie” grabber, a man who refers to black people as negros in a condescending way, a man who thinks of Africa as a …. hole country, a man who thinks that other black majority countries where people migrate from to America are rapists and murderers. He asked his followers to vote for Donald Trump although he could hear such unGodly thoughts coming from Trump’s mouth.Yet so many looks at his as a man who was selected by God. So many of us are brainwashed, blind sighted that we are not capable to decern darkness from light. My number will be called one day just like your number Billy Graham but that the end of the day we are all Gods children under the sun.

He did make the point that, unlike what the movies try to brainwash us about, Jesus was NOT a white man. He was from the Middle East, not from northern Europe.

From the Middle East? No my friend. He should have said Jesus was an African. A black man. that is what he should have said.

Talked the talk, did not walk the walk. Was anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic. Supported the war in Vietnam. Did nothing to advance civil rights, may have encouraged the racists. Did nothing for women’s rights. Raised two bigoted children. Got rich.

There was a time when I was watching a Billy Graham Telecast–which always came on, on a Saturday; Billy was speaking about our soul in its revived condition when he side “Life” He repeated the term with such an authority which I had never heard before; he exclaimed “Life with a capital L!”

I shouted with an exclamation of Alleluia; slamming my hands on the back of my sofa. And why was that so?

It was because I knew that through Billy Graham, God’s Holy Spirit had confirmed my practice of writing Life with a capital “L”, to this day I have continued the practice, including every noun or pronoun which refers to the Father and Son of the Bible, as in the New King James Version

That is how I know that what I learn from God is by the revelation of His Holy Spirit, through my faith, for He causes one His servants of Earth to give me the conviction–that servant could even be a simple friend. But I always give God the praise.

I had a bumper sticker on my Datsun pick-up in the late 70s which reads “Only one life ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” Well done brother, enter into the joy of your Lord.
I have read several books written by him, including “Peace with God”and was a subscriber of his monthly magazine “the decision.” Friends, one day you and I is going to breathe our last breath. The question is,Where will I be in eternity.?

A real evangelist that was not about money and fame but one that truly preached the gospel of Christ. Though he was a devoted Republican but he stayed within the parameters of the gospel. He was not bought by any politician neither did he serve as anyone’s UPS or FedEx, like our local Evangelist that lost his anointing and flavor he thought Linton would take away if he became PM. He LOST his anointing and flavor under Skerrit just like the other Muslem pastor with two wives in the same house.

Thanks franko. i laughed when i read d/can to the bone response. How dare i? How dare i what though? speak about televangelists in such a negative light? please. Even jesus turned over the tables of false prophets and representatives at the temple when he visited. He saw that their motive was commerce and money and riches, not truly worshiping christ. Many of these so called men of God know that religion is tax free. All they need is the give of gab and a little business savy and its all free non tax money. People like bill graham have probably never helped the black community or helped impoverished communities apart from preaching the gospel. Religion is a tool, and they have used it. you now Dominican to the bone take offense of me calling this man a false prophet like it is your father i talking about. I dare trust me, and id call these can false prophets for profit to their face. God would not smite me. you might think he should, but trust me he wont. because the same god u pray to
